Hello friends, I hope you are doing well. Welcome to my new post. We celebrate various days in our world. We have been reading about International Mother Language Day in our books since childhood. The origin of International Mother Language Day started in our Bangladesh. This Mother Language Day has its significance from the Language Movement of 1952. After the partition of 1947, two states, India and Pakistan, were created. One of the two parts of Pakistan was East Pakistan. And the main language of the people of East Pakistan was Bengali.
But at that time it was seen that the President of Pakistan and other big politicians did not want to give our Bengali language the status of the state. Due to which the people of our country showed a lot of anger towards the then government. However, in the end, on February 21, 1952, we were able to save our mother language, Bengali, in exchange for the blood of the martyrs. Later, it was seen that the United Nations declared this day as International Mother Language Day to observe the status of the state internationally in exchange for this blood.
There are many controversies about this Mother Language Day. But we are not given much idea about those controversies in the textbooks. However, in our country, International Mother Language Day is celebrated every year on February 21st. To pay respect to the martyrs, Shaheed Minar is established in various institutions of our country. In this Shaheed Minar, we all give flowers on the morning of February 21st. Whether it is a government or any other government institution in our country, people give flowers to the Shaheed Minar to pay respect to the martyrs.
This Language Martyr's Day reminds us that we, the Bengali nation, will never accept defeat. We will strictly suppress those who will do injustice to us. From 1952 to 1971, this time was a different moment of struggle for the people of our country. And through it, we have taken our Bengali nation further forward. A song always comes to my mind: "Can I forget February about coloring it with my brother's blood?" I think that International Mother Language Day will be appreciated by respecting the language of each nation. Everyone has the freedom to establish their own language. I hope you will like this post of mine, thank you all.
