Announcement of new rules of technical education system.
The education system of Bangladesh is constantly changing. A few days ago, our Education Minister Dr. Dipu Muni brought huge changes in the primary and secondary education system. There he arranged that there would be no examination from class one to class three at the initial stage The students will only study for the first three years without any examination. After that, there is no section in the ninth-tenth class in the secondary school. Everyone will read a certain number of books and where everyone has to read books of all categories Also excluded are religious education books from all classes Also new rules have been added to the education system of Bangladesh.
Suddenly, it is heard again that under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, the Diploma in Engineering education system is being made 3 years instead of 4 years. Diploma level semesters of 6 months are now being made into 4 months. The education minister says that he is bringing such changes in the education system to reduce the cost of parents However, ordinary students will be in trouble. Those who could not finish a book in 6 months, now have to finish the same book in 4 months and take the exam The purpose of technical education is hands-on education. But nowadays technical education has gone to such a stage, where instead of manual learning, everything is memorized.
Whether the student understands a subject or not, they are forced to memorize it. Which creates a disadvantage in their future employment. When a diploma engineer is asked to show work in hand in working life, he can show nothing. Because he can't learn anything in his institute life. Everything is covered. I think these changes in the education system are failing our students. If students can't study with pleasure, can't really learn about the subject, then what will the next generation learn from them.
I think diploma courses should be kept for 4 years as before. So that students can at least get some hands-on education It is not right to think that the cost of the parents will be reduced by doing the course for 3 years Because the cost of education never decreases. A parent who can afford 3 years can afford 4 years. So the education minister should not change the technical education system. Rather, students will benefit from making practical classes mandatory for technical students as well as practical tests.
