Most of us Christians and even non Christians must have came across the clause," The rejected stone has become the chief corner stone" either from the Bible or from discussions with our friends.
Now I want to ask,
Do You Think It's True Or You See It As One Of Those Things We Just Say?
As always, I will be giving a response based on my own thoughts which are definitely open to criticisms and corrections.
MY VIEW
I believe that this is true but then not blindly in admittance of it; I believe it is true only when the person in question have done justice to what should make the dreams come through.
What do they actually mean by this particular saying ?
Just so you know, biblically, the Psalm 118:22 can be interpreted as;
The rejection Jesus Christ faced when he came to save mankind and yet, through those sufferings, he brought us the grace of resurrection (chief cornerstone).
Jesus Christ Himself Was The Rejected Stone
In this write-up, I am referring to what a greater percentage of humans have transformed it to mean and the way they use it...
In a nutshell, it means let's say someone who wasn't relevant before or someone whose opinion barely matters in any situation suddenly becoming someone the society reckons on to bring ideas before taking any step.
For instance;
Mr. Obi is a poor man and when he comes to the village meeting, he gives his opinion but then because he is poor, no one follows whatever he says but waits for the big men to air their views and regardless of how good Mr. Obi's opinions were, they are left out .
Mr. Obi later got a job since he was learned enough and started earning, then builds up his savings and becomes well established.
The next village meeting held and most of Mr. Obi's opinions were selected.
Why was this so now?
What is different between the Mr. Obi of then and Mr. Obi of now?
We then come out and say, Mr. Obi, the rejected stone has now become the chief corner stone.

How does it sound in your ear?
Doesn't it sound funny and childish to you?
Something as obvious as that being thwarted and then you expecting us to believe that too?
Mr. Obi has now become the chief corner stone, no doubt about that but then, the question is this,
Did Mr. Obi just stay where he was and boom, he became the chief corner stone without doing anything?
Mr. Obi probably went to school, suffered in bagging his degrees and still went for job interviews.... if care is not taken around six or seven separate job interviews before he finally secured one and still had difficulties before he could finally settle down after so many years of difficulties and sufferings.
Then, people deny this phase, sorry to be specific, especially preachers, and expect you to just jump from the rejected stone you are to a chief corner stone;
For who exactly?
Works should be done
Efforts should be made
Obstacles must surely come
You don't just escape some due processes in life such as the suffering phase and just jump into glory. Things does not work that way.
Emphasis must be made to the younger generations to go back and do those rightful duties expected of them to do if they want to be the chief corner stones; none of those current chief stones made it to the top by doing nothing;
They worked for it,
They laboured for it
You shouldn't be deceived that easily,
Nothing good comes easy.
Try and think!
You develop yourself over time, you make mistakes and then you get corrected.
If you don't take the corrections you ought to take to become better, the rejected stone will still become the rejected stone.
There is no progress in life without sacrifice(s).
Now let's actually take this clause literally and consider it to be a stone indeed;
If the stone doesn't have enough mass to hold up the building, will the builder go ahead and use it or will it wait for new deliveries to come before continuing his work?
Of course, he will have to wait for new deliveries because if he goes ahead to use that exact stone, his whole work and expertise will be questioned as the building might even collapse.
No one gets to you if you have nothing to offer
Why will someone actually meet you in the first place if you have nothing to offer at all, no matter how small it is?
Be wise and do the necessary things you are supposed to do.
Until we meet again, stay safe
