
Hello teachers, students, and researchers, I am here again today, Monday, 6th April, 2020, to share a guide on how to measure assess school principals' attainment of educational goals through research.
The success of any organization is highly rested upon the capacity of the head, boss or the manager of such an enterprise. Administration involves planning activities which aim at the fulfillment of the goals of a particular organization. Schools like every other organisation needs a head that result-oriented to ensure that the educational goals as enshrined in the educational policy is achieved.
It calls for the ability of the administrator to make the right decisions to fulfil the required goals. The leadership impact is desirable in organization to aid easy and maximum success. School organizations operate under the direction, leadership and vision of their educational leaders.
In the school system, like any other organization, decisions are made by the principal towards solving immediate and remote problems all aimed at achieving set goals and objective. This decision could be aimed at instructional programme, transportation, communication system, students’ and staff welfare, students' staff discipline, school plant management, accommodation, health services, admission policy, budgeting and extra-curricular activities. The outcome of such decision is quality assurance of both teaching and learning in a pleasant and conducive environment.
The success of the educational ventures at secondary school level depends largely on the capacity of the principal, his motivation, his managerial ability, his style of working, and ability to mobilize other actors in the school.
It is therefore important that the capacity of the school head to steer in the direction of achieving the goal of setting up the school be regularly assessed. This assessment is better done by the subordinates (teachers or students). This is therefore a tool to guide the assessment of a school Principal on the basis of achieving educational goals.
I have put in over seven years into educational researches, and I have discovered that it is a popular problem among research students to be able to construct their instruments for collection of data even when this is a major component for the success of the research.
