Today is Wednesday 8 day in the month of April 2020. I would be considering few steps I could improve the spelling accuracy of my students and pupils reading this post.
Before I commence, let me do a little background information about the author which is not really necessary, but I must say that in my little years of experience in the classroom both as a class teacher and Subject teacher, I have realized that many students especially the L2 learners, like ones we have here in Uyo - Nigeria, do experience a lot of difficulties in their bit to expressing themselves in written form. This no doubt could be traced back to their lack of proficiency and mastery of the initial language skills like Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing which no doubt is the bedrock of success in acquisition.
What then is the solution to this challenge in the critical spelling defect among our students and pupils, and how can we be of help, and make them overcome this challenge? These and many more questions ran through my mind.
Sequel to this, it's really a long term project that is gonnna need resources, man power and time too to make this dream a reality.
Nonetheless, this work sheet is just a tip of the iceberg. Hopefully, I would be coming up with better and improved worksheet that can help both the L1 and L2 speakers to improve their Language skills with much emphasis to spellings.
