Background.
Activist and environmentalist oppose police and law enforcement training center worth $90 million from being constructed in this area. I actually support activism and environmentalist protesting that is non-violent as well as the rest of the United States for the majority does as well.
A while back we had the antifa and leftist activism groups getting raided by police officers in which a shooting happened and then today a riot and attack on police and equipment.
Committed arson, attacked and destroyed vehicles equipment and buildings. As well as also shot a police officer. Using fireworks as improvised explosive devices. This absolutely now has changed this protest from being a peaceful nonviolent music festival worthy of protection and public support however now we've seen this protest get violent. Now that gives law enforcement a reason to attack them.
And now we actually are seeing a massive amount of charges being leveled as well as a lot of these individuals are actually from around the world. Identifying and really showing how coordinated this has gotten.
Unfortunately with the amount of video surveillance we are going to see it huge accountability blow to the protesters with anybody involved in criminal activity getting slapped with felony charges and most likely federal charges as well.
What happened to start this.
The shooting that changed this.
In the blink of an eye you seen a human being being killed in an extremely brutal fashion. American police walking through the homeless camp of protesters ended up getting into a gunfight.
9:00 in the morning we see Georgia State patrol officers push into the activist camp and start slicing and tearing up tents and especially I noticed the officer recording has stolen a backpack with a torch.
In the video you can very clearly hear a couple of shots happen before a massive amount of rounds are unleashed in retaliation. I can absolutely understand the reason why this overwhelming amount of violence was perpetrated because very clearly on the radio you can hear that one of the Georgia State patrol officers ended up with a gunshot wound. From reports he was wearing a bulletproof vest and took a round in the pelvis.
While activism actually is really amazing I'm just going to have to say that it is very fine line between being an activist as well as sticking with the non-violent activism ideals and this.
So basically we've gotten quite a mess here as now the protesters have a huge problem with the violence being unleashed as well as the murder of one of the activism members. Which now sets the stage for violence and revenge.
Most shamefully we actually see that Georgia State patrol officers did not have any body cams which were able to capture the events for not only the officers protection but also for a vision into what happened to this so we can understand. However city of Atlanta police department officers were able to immediately cover this situation with having body cams going. Which is actually a really amazing thing. Because of course the entire world would have known what happened and who shot first without speculation. Video evidence would have been extremely handy however also seeing the actions of the police officers chopping tents apart and stealing the personal belongings of the protesters really doesn't make that look very well either.
My view
Unfortunately this also paints anyone protesting in a horrible light. It's also really paints law enforcement into a corner. There's absolutely going to be a huge investigation and with the identification of all of the responsible parties it is only a matter of time before the charges start flying.
Police officers are now on a complete and total rampage after having one of their own being shot as well as now this latest attack with Molotov cocktails and improvised explosive devices. Molotov cocktails and fireworks are actually federally illegal and especially so if you are using them against law enforcement.
What is a huge shame is the fact that any success we've seen in this protest has now been completely flushed away.
