Last night Stella Morris, Julian Assange's fiancee informed us that the independent journalist suffered a stroke in Belmarsh prison. This happened in October on the first day of the High Court appeal hearing. It was recently confirmed on an MRI that.

Julian Assange is a journalist, but also a political prisoner, targeted and imprisoned for no other reason than exposing United States war crimes and government corruption. He is currently being held by the United Kingdom in the high security prison Belmarsh on behalf of the United States until the extradition request is granted or denied.
In total he has been locked up for nearly a decade now, first isolated in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London which granted him asylum in 2012 when his freedom first came under threat. After Ecuador voted a new more pro United States president in, he was taken from the embassy and arrested. This happened in 2019. Since then he's been locked up in prison.

Friday December 10, a UK high court overturned the lower court ruling that initially blocked the United States extradition request for Julian Assange in January. Ironically Friday was also international Human Rights Day. And it will forever be remembered as the day the United States launched it's greatest attack against our human rights in history, the destruction of our press freedom. For Julian Assange, this means that he can now be extradited to the United States where he might face 175 years in prison.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald stated:"The US extradition request will now be sent to UK Home Secretary Priti Patel, expected to rubber-stamp it. Assange says he'll appeal. Regardless, his freedom - if it ever comes - is now years away and he remains silenced, exactly as the Biden Admin wants."
