The Europian Unión's parliament has said that Hungary can no longer be considered a full democracy. The parliament on the 16th of september said that Hungary's situation has really gone bad to the extent of it beign autocratic.
The parliament noted that the EU had not played it role well hence the detoriation in the hungaryian politics. They also expressed concerns in the areas of human rights,academics and religious freedom. They didn't fail to include the functioning of the electoral system in their long list of concerns .
This decisión was taken after a motion was passed in the parliament with 433 in support and 123 against,with 28 absention votes respectively. This motion therefore calls for a devotion in the dismantling of the rule of law in Hungary.
The parliament has requested that Hungary's EU funds should be withheld from it. This decisión taken by the parliament however had critics saying it was a double standard decisión based on political baias and subjective opinións.
The situation in Hungary has dramatically degraded," Delbos-Corfield said this to press men before the vote.
Some people have suggested that this decisión of the parliament was to attack Hungary and its Christian decomcatic government.
This action also is said to be the fist that the EU has taken on any member state,declaring the state's democracy improper.
In the midst of all this,the prime minister of Hungary has said that this is all joke and that this was not the first time this Issue is being raised in the parliament.
With much contentions and with facts that Hungary is one of the greatest beneficiary of the EU funds and support, the parliament has been adivised not to heed to any pretensious attempt to bycout its decisions untill everything is sorted out.
We can only hope that democracy which is the government of the people and by the people doesnt become the thing of the past in Hungary.
