I've surely written more than two thousand blog posts ever since I started writing online. I started off without being aware that I could write something that would resonate with folks. However, after publishing my blog post a couple of times, it became quite obvious that everyone has something to share with the rest of the world.
It's like having an opinion. We all have opinions even when we don't make it public to the rest of the world. However, being articulate enough to share your opinion or thoughts about a particular topic and having the courage to make it public is a big part of personal growth and development. That has been part of the joy I get from writing and having my thoughts published on the internet.
The Internet already offers a lot of platforms where we can share our thoughts in several forms. For written content, we have platforms for both short-form and long-form content and this is the case both in Web2 and Web3. Take Hive for an example. We already have the option of publishing in short form or long form. So, anyone who ever wants to share his or her thoughts in written form is free to do that.
The same applies to video content. You can even say that being a video content creator has become so much easier at the moment than how it has ever been. As far as you know what you want to share with your audience, there are already a lot of platforms you can utilize to share your stuff. And, the option to share either short-form or long-form video content is open to everyone.
Even the podcasting universe is open. So, there is no limit to the forms in which we can share our thoughts with the rest of the world.
While enjoying this bliss of having several publishing and uploading platforms at our reach, it's important to be aware of the problem that faces content creators in this modern day. One of those is that the things you say or write are open to all sorts of objections from folks all over the world. And, they won't hold back when stomping on you and your opinion.
That in itself isn't exactly a bad thing. I always say that people are free to say "they disagree" to whatever I say or a thought I share. There can be so much to learn from each other even when there are differences in opinion. However, I'm not naive to the fact that a lot of comments made in disagreement could be done out of spite or malevolence.
Take Internet trolls for an example. These folks are not interested in a discussion. They are not interested in listening or making sense of any thought shared in a post or video. All they want is to attack both the post and the person who published the post. And, I'm very sure they do it to satisfy their disgusting desires. We see people like that in several platforms and they are getting away with their bullshit.
In all my years of actively leaving my digital footprint in the form of written and video contents, I've come across some folks with opinions that didn't align with mine and vice versa. We can entertain each other and have a very articulate and respectful disagreement. But I don't give the same tolerance or courtesy to trolls. They just don't deserve it.
Have fun while sharing your thoughts out there. Share what you believe to be the truth. Be open to different opinions, but don't allow any troll to shut you up.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.
