In western Afghanistan, the Taliban government today executed a murder suspect by hanging. It is the first public execution since their return as country leaders.
On Wednesday, representatives of the Taliban confirmed that the murder suspect had been hung.
According to Zabihullah Mujahid, a leading Taliban government spokesperson, the execution took place in western Farah province in front of hundreds of onlookers and a number of senior Taliban figures, including the governor.
The guy was suspected of killing another man with a knife in western Farah province in 2017 therefor he was pushied with hung. Senior government representatives were also present. It is abundantly obvious from this death sentence that the Taliban will not budge from their rigid guidelines and adherence to Islamic law.
Mujahid said that the punishment had been properly considered. Following clearance from the three highest courts in the nation as well as Taliban Supreme Leader Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada, the execution took place.
Mujahid said that Tajmir, a citizen of the province of Herat, was the man who had been hung.
Tajmeer, a native of the province of Herat, was found guilty five years ago of killing Mustafa and taking both his motorbike and cell phone.
Taliban courts continued to order public hangings, floggings, and stonings of criminals when they initially assumed control of Afghanistan in the 1990s.
But when the Taliban retook Afghanistan in August 2021, they pledged to treat people leniently and to grant rights to minorities and women but as expected, nothing has changed from that past.
