We've seen it before and it's happening all over again: in times of crisis money sides with fascism. Mostly this is done in secret, but when fascism becomes normalized, there will be some who don't care and support fascism for all to see.

I've said this many times already: in times of crisis capital sides with fascism. We often use the term "status quo" when talking about the power structures that are being protected by the government. And by that I mean any government in today's first world. "Status quo" is "the current state of things", and if you're currently rich and successful, then you are not interested in disrupting this status quo; why upset the existing socioeconomic arrangements when they served you, and often your ancestors, so well? If you are currently not so rich, and have to struggle hard to make ends meet each month, you probably are interested in upsetting the status quo. Or are you..?
Have you ever tried to debate someone who is "too far gone"? Someone who's so deeply invested in an idea, theory or ideology, that there's no way to talk them out of it? The Republicans who still believe the 2020 elections were stolen, after all the evidence against and the complete lack of evidence for this accusation, are too far gone. There's no logical argument that's going to convince them otherwise, they're lost to the rest of us who live in the real world. When it comes to free market capitalism, we're too far gone as a society: Mark Fisher called this phenomenon Capitalist Realism, perfectly summarized in the quote "it is easier to imagine an end to the world than an end to capitalism". That's why I'm not so sure if the 99 percent are really willing to contemplate upsetting the status quo.
However, we're living in a time when the status quo once again shows its true face. The last time we saw this was during the rise of Hitler and the German Nazi Party. In the early 1930s that party was facing financial ruin, but they were bailed out by Germany's largest industrialists, I.G. Farben, Krupp and others. Also American Bankers and military industrial complex were involved, even after America became actively involved in the war after Pearl Harbor. George W. Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, was involved with financing the Nazis; How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power.
So Who Is Nick Fuentes?
The story is the same every time. In periods of crisis there's a defacto divide between the political left and right: the left rightly blames capitalism, and the right incorrectly blames marginalized demographics. Protection of the capitalist status quo demands that capitalists don't side with the leftists, so they side with the side that doesn't threaten the ideology that's served them so well. It's that simple. Even the so called liberal media won't question capitalism or the capitalists; they're stuck in a perpetual game of blaming the other side, like when Hillary Clinton called Trump supporters a "basket of deplorables" during her 2016 presidential election campaign. Capital will side with the political wing that blames capitalism's crisis on foreigners, immigrants, and distract from the real issue with racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, antisemitism and Islamophobia.
It's not that Elon Musk is intelligent enough to understand this. But he perfectly demonstrates the truth of what I've stated above by his behavior and how he manages Twitter. Elon's a Republican because it's the party who allows him to treat his employees the way he wants to treat them. Elon restores the accounts of far right people on Twitter. Watch the below linked video for a short rant on how three multi millionaires and billionaires in America, Kanye West, Donald Trump and Elon Musk, openly side with fascism. This is a reaction to Kanye West openly supporting white supremacist neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes, and introducing him to Trump at a Mar-a-Lago dinner:
Donald Trump repeatedly refused to disavow the outspoken antisemite and white supremacist Nick Fuentes after they spoke over dinner at his Mar-a-Lago resort, rejecting the advice from advisers over fears he might alienate a section of his base, two people familiar with the situation said. The former US president was urged publicly and privately to denounce Fuentes in the aftermath of the dinner, which included the performer Ye, previously known as Kanye West, who has also recently been propagating antisemitic remarks.

Watch the video; Vaush also touches on how capitalism is fundamentally anti-democracy, and delves deeper into this close interaction between capitalists and reactionary far right forces. For a mask-off introduction to Nick Fuentes watch the above linked video.
we are in the wacky timeline and i don't know what will happen next
