The current slew of Christian Nationalist Conservatives and Evangelicals who make up the core of the MAGA wing in the Republican Party are some of the least Christian people I've ever seen. While their God is supposedly all about helping the poor, the cripple, the blind and all those who can't help themselves, they will nor lift a proverbial finger to help anyone.

It's even worse than that; in their eyes leftists and liberals are owned by making them seem compassionate. Helping other people is for the weak, social justice warriors and the politically correct; you know, decent people who haven't lost their capacity for empathy. Jesus, if you believe He existed, was a socialist, and the modern Bible-thumping conservatives of the MAGA conviction are having a blast squaring that circle.
No matter how hard they claim to be the party of law, order and "American values," their actions speak louder than their words and say the exact opposite. America is a country of immigrants; they've built a giant statue holding a torch as a symbol of hospitality. There's a bronze plaque inside that Statue of Liberty with a poem containing these famous words:
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

The poem is titled "The New Colossus" as a reference to, and to contrast it with the Greek Colossus of Rhodes, an ancient symbol of grandeur and empire, whereas the "new" colossus was a beacon of hospitality. But the fake MAGA traditionalists would of course reverse that too; from a welcoming beacon to the world they've built a wall and tried to reject visa's and green cards for anyone who's classified as likely or liable to become a Public Charge. Ken Cuccinelli, the Trump-appointed director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, even went so far as to revise a line from the poem to read: "Give me your tired and your poor who can stand on their own two feet, and who will not become a public charge."
God is Love. That's what I've been hearing all my life. The believers in that God sure are a hateful bunch though, at least the ones that have been politically hyper-active in America since the Reagan years. They hate queers, feminists, trans-people, immigrants, the poor and most everyone else who could use a helping hand. They never seem to ask themselves "what would Jesus do?" Or they come up with a completely different answer than can be found in the words of their Holy Book. I won't provide the Bible verses contradicting their political actions and ideologies here; just watch the below linked video to see how much hate is in the hearts and minds of these fake Christians...
