Or should I say: GOP's Punishment? What's going on in America right now is batshit crazy. Or, as some would describe it, the birth of a Fundamentalist Christian Theocracy.

I'm going to be brief today and refer you all to the included video, but I have to get this off my chest. I don't know how much of this is covered in the mainstream media, but the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade is beginning to bear fruits. And what rotten fruits they are. One story I'm almost sure you've all heard, and that's the one about the ten year old rape victim that had to travel from Ohio to Indiana to get an abortion. She was six weeks pregnant and therefore wasn't eligible for an abortion in Ohio. This story broke only three days after the SCOTUS overturned the nationwide right to terminate pregnancy, and Ohio's six-week trigger-ban came into effect.
This case alone should make any decent person look upon the denial of basic women's healthcare with disgust. When asked about the consequences for rape-victims, and this ten year old in particular, an anti-abortion rights advocate answered that terminating the pregnancy of a ten year old rape-victim isn't an abortion because specific exceptions would apply in such cases. The mental gymnastics these people are capable of when confronted with the horrific consequences of anti-abortion stance is out of this world. First the story was made out to be "fake news" by several right-wing media, the story was made up, a psyop to cast the pro-live crowd in a bad light. But then a man came forward and confessed to having raped the girl twice, so now they point to exceptions that would have taken effect, exceptions that don't exist in Ohio, exceptions the theocrats don't even want to exist because if something like this happens, it must have been God's will. Or they redefine the word "abortion" so that it wouldn't apply in this case...
Ohio, and many other states where the right to abortion is now a thing of the past, also don't make exceptions for cases where the pregnant person's health or live is threatened due to the pregnancy. It's like I said so many times before; there's nothing "pro-live" about this whole anti-abortion movement. Nothing. They'll ostensibly fight for the right to live for something that can't reasonably be called a person yet, but they'll gladly endanger the live of the soon-to-be parent while doing so. Stories are pouring in about pregnant women begging for their own lives, begging their doctors and hospitals to prioritize their lives over that of the unborn fetus, and doctors and hospitals having to turn them away due to fear of being prosecuted and losing their licenses. There are even stories about women being forced to carry for weeks and then give birth to their dead fetus, endangering their lives and traumatizing them for live if they survive. These are the same people who criticize Muslim countries for not letting their women drive a car, by the way...
In Texas, 26-year-old Lizelle Herrera was arrested and charged with murder for self-induced abortion. In California, 29-year-old Adora Perez served four years in prison after giving birth to a stillborn son. And in Mississippi, Latice Fisher was jailed after losing her baby at 36 weeks after police found she’d searched for abortion information online.

The above quote mentions cases all before the toppling of Roe v. Wade, by the way, and should be seen as a harbinger of what's to come. There's an extremely fundamentalist Christian group here in The Netherlands as well, who refuse to have their children vaccinated simply because that would "interfere with God's Plan" for them. I guess the anti-abortion movement reasons in the same way; if you should die during pregnancy or birth, that's just God's plan for you. And in a way you should be grateful because now you're with God in Heaven. Or maybe it's just God's punishment for you because you failed to live up to His standards... That's the hallmark of a theocracy; people in power who claim to know God's will exercising their divinely acquired right to punish you in His name. I haven't linked any of the horrific stories here, but you can find them easily using Google search. And if you don't like searching, just watch the below linked video summarizing just some of them...
Forced-Pregnancy Theocrats Will Not Stop Using The Government To Implement Their God’s Law
