A couple of days ago, my organ friend posted Wilhelm Karges (?), Fantasia in D on the Mascioni organ of the parish church in Azzio, made by Piotr Gabrowski. This instrument was the first sample set I installed when I returned to using Hauptwerk. I was amazed by all the instruments Piotr has made freely available for the Hauptwerk community. After hearing
's performance, I decided to take this instrument for a ride again as I feel I've been spending too much time on the French and English variants!
This is the 9th variation of Zachow's (student of Handel) Partita on Jesu, meine Freude. Translated, the title means "Jesus, my joy". The registration is the single Principale 8' on the Grand Organo. It features a 'chiff' on note attack and a lovely principal tone. I have included the music in the video on the music rack for viewing pleasure.
The score is available on IMSLP: http://ks4.imslp.net/files/imglnks/usimg/b/bc/IMSLP564330-PMLP909029-Zachow_LV49_Variations.pdf
PS. Posting this in the Organ Music community (hive-122458)
