For this blog, I'm going to share with you my gratitude list for a week. In celebration for the World Mental Health Month, the psychology department encouraged everyone, including the non-psychology students to post a story of three things that they are grateful for. Screenshot it and sent it to the class representative to acknowledged the story. As someone who advocates to appreciate the good in everything, I didn't miss that amazing opportunity to share the things that I'm grateful for. Everyone has their own battles that weights them down, and a step to a healthy mental health is a life lived with gratitude. Therefore, I'm going to share with you my story of gratitude for a week.
Here's a screenshot of a story that I posted
DAY 1: Kind People Still Exist
On the first day of my gratitude list, I wrote that I'm grateful to my teacher for letting me take the exam. This was actually my preliminary exam for my major subject, and I wasn't supposed to take it without my admission slip. I spent days crying and worrying about how to take the exam without permission. With no other choice, I went to the dean's office and asked the dean directly if I could take the exam. Although some unfortunate events occurred, making me lose hope and cry even more, the good news was that I was allowed to take the exam. I'm aware I might have annoyed the dean with my request, but I had to try. After all, I had to do what I had to do.
The next thing I'm grateful for is Sir Darwin, my siblings' former badminton coach. Here's what happened:
As I headed home from school, I realized my phone was missing. Surprisingly, I wasn't anxious, so I assumed it might be with my girlfriend, Giselle. I checked my bag multiple times, thinking it might be buried under my notebooks, but it wasn't there. When I reached the alley, Sir Darwin saw me searching. He asked where I was headed, and I replied that I was looking for my phone. He asked where I last had it, and I said I thought it was with Giselle. He continued on his motorcycle, but then turned back and offered to call Giselle about my phone. When Giselle didn't answer, I called my mother to pick me up since it was late and I didn't have a flashlight. Thanks to Sir Darwin, I got home safely, and I'll always appreciate his kindness. Ironically, when I arrived home, I found my phone at the bottom of my bag. I'm still puzzled why I didn't see it earlier.
The last but definitely not the least on the first day of my gratitude list, I wrote there that I was and is still grateful for the people that I love; my family, friends, myself, and of course, my girlfriend. Though my relationship with these people are not perfect, but I'm still super grateful for them in any way. I'm grateful for their presence, for their help, for their love, and for being themselves. Without the hardwork of my family, I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't be able to attend class, eat, and to live life. I see how hard they worked just to survive life and change our current situation, and they deserve appreciation. To my friends who always makes me feel better everytime I'm down, for making me laugh, everytime I frown, and for lifting me up everytime I drown, thank you. To my one and only conyo baby, my girlfriend, my love, my darling, thank you so much. Thank you for taking care of me, for loving me unconditionally. Thank you for communicating our problems. Thank you for being yourself. I cannot put into words how much you make me happy and how much you make my life better just for being in it.
I have a lot of things that I'm grateful for despite of the challenges I have faced. In this blog, I challenge you, amazing Hivers, to write down three things that you are grateful for. See you on my next blog, have a nice day!
Don't forget to write down three things that you are grateful for! 💙
