Apples, Apples, Everywhere
APPLE SAMPLING AND MUSIC AT THE PARK ORCHARD
I was on walk to breathe in some of that good ass prana when I started to hear some nice music coming from inside the park. As I got closer to the source of the sound, I realised that it was a live performance, and it was coming from inside the orchard in the park.
I noticed people going in and out of the place. It is an apple orchard in a segmented part of the park that is not usually accessible to the public. Occasionally, like the fateful day, they would host some kind of event and open the gate to the public.
I saw the sign at the entrance. It was an invitation to passers by to come in and indulge in all things apple. Inside I saw a whole bunch of apple trees with ripe apples on them. There were different varieties of apple - large small, green red and yellow. I had no idea this was there. I mean, I knew about the place - I had been in there for an event when apples were off-season, so I didn't realise they were apple trees, or the variety present.
There was a man there demonstrating how apple Juice is made via pressing. He had his press and wheelbarrow there and made juice from apples plucked from trees at the orchard. Everything was totally 100% organic. The smell was absolutely amazing.
Apple Juice is not permitted on my keto diet but, as I do now and again, I was happy to taste such delicious natural produce. I don't think I've ever had apple juice from fruit plucked right there and then. Heck the press was under the actual apple tree.
There were a few live performances that gave it a nice ambience too. Many were there with their dogs and children, all running around gleefully in the orchard. The public was allowed to pluck apples to eat from the trees. I'm not sure if it was allowed to take some home, but I did see some cheeky folk stuffing their bags with apples. Not to worry, there was such an abundance of fruits that they were going to go to waste anyway, probably, if people didn't take them. I did see some starting to rut even on the trees. It seems even the birds had too many options that they largely left the apples alone.
I wish you all a good new month. Let's go ahead and achieve our dreams, despite the hard times, shall we?
Peace & Love,
Adé
