Wild Berries Are Ripening
ποΈπ BIRD FOOD FOR BIRDS BY BIRDS πποΈ
It's been a couple of weeks since getting back into the flow of walking regularly. I've even started going for longer walks that usual - up to 2 hours. I do that when I have stuff to listen to so I'm usually killing several birds with one stone :)
Talking of birds, they've done a stellar job lately. The berries that they planted along the roads, the wild berries that is, are starting to ripen. Walking along the road I noticed the thorny plants heavy with green, yellow, red and dark blue fruits. I was a little tempted to pluck some and have a taste. However, being along the road, I decided it wasn't really a good idea. I've seen too much that I can't unsee π. From grown men urinating into the bush, to dogs and cats doing doodoos on those plants. I just couldn't haha. Perhaps if it was the countryside.
I've seen people pick these fruits in similar places in the past though. I guess we all have different standards haha. Most people are like me though, I can imagine, so that's great news to the birds and squirrels. I'd say the birds deserve it - heck, they planted them in the first place. It's the give-and-take cycle of life. One of nature's perfect designs.
It's also quite astonishing how much free food grows all over the place. Growing wildly. It shows the potential if we actually decided to grow the stuff consciously. There was a movement during the occupy days that talked about growing food rather than decorative plants in the city. They even planted some root vegetables in the city of London while the took over the squares. I wonder what happened to that movement.
I got an important phone call during my walk and needed somewhere calm and quiet to talk. Luckily I happened upon a familiar cafe. Nothing like an americano on a mild summer day βοΈ
Peace & Love,
