The victims of the fire are- Hafez Abu Taher, Md. Shah Alam, Mabia Khatun, Nurul Alam, Forak Ahmed, Nur Nahar Begum and Shahjahan. Besides, the people who were burnt in the fire are- Anwara Begum (40), Lucky Akhtar (45), Md. Kala Mia Manik (20), Chenowara Begum (60) and Jane Alam (24).
Hathazari Upazila Health Complex doctor said. Tahami Saber Chowdhury said that the locals who came to put out the fire on Wednesday morning rescued the victims and brought them to the Upazila Health Complex. They were sent to Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital for advanced treatment with first aid.
In this regard, the head of the burn unit of Chamek Hospital. Rafiq Ahmed said that everyone's respiratory system was damaged due to the fire. Brishti Begum and her five-month-old baby were among the six people who were rushed to hospital after being burnt in the blaze.
Among them, 22 per cent of Anwara Begum (40), 10 per cent of Lucky Akhtar (45), 10 per cent of Chenowar (60), 25 per cent of Kala Mia Manik (15) and Jane Alam (24) were burnt.
Shahjahan, a senior station officer of the fire service, confirmed the matter and said goods worth more than Rs 15 lakh had been recovered. Upon receiving the news of the fire, two units of the fire service went to the spot and brought the fire under control after trying for about two and a half hours.
