Many are the expectations that are given with the promise of the return of Christ and many movements and activities of the Christian people in relation to the preaching of the gospel for the salvation of the lost and the preparation for the return of Christ.
From the first moment that the Lord Jesus rose to heaven to sit at the right hand of the heavenly Father, the disciples heard the voice saying to them:
“Men of Galilee,” they were told, “why are you standing here, looking up at the sky? Jesus was taken from you and taken to heaven, but one day he will return from heaven the same way he saw him go. "Acts 1:11 New International Version (NIV)
As we can well read in this biblical promise, the return of Christ is mentioned from the moment he was taken by angels to be taken to heaven at the right hand of the Father. The voice that spoke to the disciples clearly mentions that Jesus will return in the same way that they saw him ascend.
Jesus will return and it is a promise of God, which forces the Christian people to be alert with constant vigilance and much preparation for holiness.
The return of Christ will certainly have a positive impact on the Christian people, both for those who sleep in Christ and for those who are alive on earth at this time.
The apostle Paul describes two important moments of impacts that the return of Christ will have on the Christian people:
16 For the Lord himself with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, will descend from heaven; and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we will always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17 King James Version (KJV)
Paul mentions that Christ's return will first have a glorious impact on Christians who sleep in Christ and are in paradise right now. Christians since the 1st century AD Until now, those who have died will have the great privilege of being the first to be resurrected. These Christians who are in paradise will rise from the tombs with the bodies of glorified angels and meet Christ and his angels in the clouds.
All this will happen so fast and fast, that there will be no time for anything. The angels as soon as they hear the command voice of God, they will blow the trumpets and those who sleep in Christ must rise first.
This is wonderful and glorious. We must remain with great expectation and confidence that all our relatives who received Christ and are in paradise, will rise with a body of glory to receive Jesus in the clouds.
The second important moment of impact that Paul mentions of the return of Christ, refers to the men and women who at this moment received Christ as Savior and are preaching the word in different parts of the world and remain busy serving God in multiple ways and living sanctifying. the same.
Paul says that these Christians who are alive by the time of Christ's return, will be caught up and transformed into incorruptible bodies, similar to angels and will be reunited in the clouds with Christ and the dead who had risen.
The return of Christ will have a glorious impact on the Christian people. It does not matter if at the time of his return we are alive or dead, what matters is that we remain faithful to the Lord, so that we participate in this powerful event, which is the return of Christ.
The Lord's church is called to persevere and continue to preach the gospel of salvation to every creature: "He who believes will be saved and he who does not will be condemned." Christ is coming soon, get ready!
