Harmattan;a cool dry wind that blows from the Northeast from the western Sahara desert usually begins from around that late November to mid March, since Nigerian northan state is closer to the sahel which means "shore"in Arabic is 5000km stretch from the savannah forms the edge of the Sahara desert that borders the northan state, during the mid November you start getting the feelings of the harmattan approaching
Altho I'm writing from the southern part of the country were currently now there are no more rain fall dry wind and heavy sun, depicts signs of the harmattan coming, even tho it's just early November.
I woke up this morning Feeling dryness and around 9am the sun was up, before noon it really was sunny and very hot and dry ....
Recently I traveled to Cross River State still located at the southern region of Nigeria, during late September the weather becomes very dry and cold mostly because they have lots of vegetation, plantations thick, forest and major natural habitat for wide life, around these times the humidity there becomes very dry, by late November to mid March the harmattan level becomes severe such that it began to affect the skin
So most if one does not apply cream immediately after bathing the skin becomes very dry and can cause injury and scale on the skin
By these times the obudu cattle range which is a tourist attractions in cross River State, the atmospheric conditions there becomes very cold
The urban cities like Lagos, port-Harcourt and Ibadan which are commercial hubs with the heat dryness are thick with hay
And these continues till late January then it began to wave out.
Thanks alot for coming thru and not backing out ...
Much APPRECIATED
