After the onion post I published yesterday, today I'd like to share what we have in the garden at the moment. Two days ago I took a bunch of photos to be able to do this post and now I'm trying organise them to look like a gardening journal 😊
Let's start with tomatoes. As far as I'm concerned, tomatoes are no.1. Nothing can take their place! If I were to choose one vegetable I can grow in the garden, that would be tomatoes!!! 🍅
Usually we have at least five types each year, and this year should have been no different. We had the seeds, I've bought a few myself from Hungary, but they got mixed, not by us though.
This year the seedlings were grown by the neighbor as we were stuck in the city during the lockdown. He's new to gardening and for him tomato is tomato, he can't distinguish between types and mixed the seeds big time.
When my dad got here, the seedlings were already big and there was no way of knowing which is what.
So now we have these, my dad thought these won't grow tall but later it turned out they do, so he had to use sticks and create a net for them to grow on.
These are also growing tall, so there's a system to hold them. , how many flowers are there? 😁
So far so good, looks like we're going to have plenty this year, which is great as I'm planning to make juice, ketchup, pizza sauce and other things with tomato.
I could identify four types but I'm not sure, have to ask my dad as he knows better.
Today I'm not going to mention or upload onion photos, if you have missed my post, you can still check it out.
Peppers are like the lottery this year. The neighbor grew some seedlings, then my dad bought some from the market, so you can never be sure what you got until you see the peppers.
These are growing nicely already, so we're going to have fresh homegrown pepper in a week or two.
Cucumbers. After tomatoes, cucumbers are my second favourite vegetables and we always have plenty to eat them while fresh and also to make pickles. This year this is how the cucumber section looks like. One, only one is growing, so if we get a handful, that would be great. Better luck next year. Not that I'm happy about it but the neighbor has none as well.
Beans, these are growing nicely and we have quite a few types.
Running beans, I believe that's how it's called.
These are just flowering, so I guess we have to wait another month or so, till I can make a delicious soup.
These are also beans.
Unfortunately the app is not letting me upload any more photos, it says it's impossible do to low memory. This is strange, don't know what to do about it as it's never happened before.
I'm going to upload the second part tomorrow.
