It's been a while since I participated in the ecotrain contest and for some reason, I was strolling through my feed today and came across this week's question.
Although it is one day to go but I just wanted to participate in this one and because I love the question.
So this weeks question says; *What are your favourite ways to show and receive gratitude?"
Well, so many people have different ways of showing or receiving gratitude whether it be financially, materially, or otherwise and I am no exception. So, here is how I show my gratitude to someone who has done something for me or given me something.
Two months back, during my birthday, a friend of mine bought me a black cover shoe, not like I didn't have one, I had a black shoe but for some reason, I had told her that I would be getting a black shoe to add to the one I already had and unexpectedly, on my birthday, she bought me a beautiful and elegant black shoe. I could not stop thanking her and smiling at the gift she bought for me.
Here are pictures of me wearing them.
I also remember a friend getting me a handbag as a gift, I ended up using that bag till I was been asked to stop using the bag because I had other bags that I bought with my money.
How I show my gratitude to someone who bought me a shoe, a bag, a cloth, or whatever was bought for me is by wearing that thing over and over again to the extent you will begin to beg me not to wear it again.
I will so much cherish it like it's all I have got even when I know and you know as well that I have enough of that thing.
Now, if I am given money, I always show my gratitude to the person by first thanking the person who gave me and I will begin to think of what I can use the money to either buy that will help me remember the person for his or her kindness or think about using the money to solve a pressing issue of mine with that particular money just to be sure that I used the money for something meaningful or tangible and don't end up spending the money unnecessarily.
I so much appreciate things that are given to me and always made sure that the person saw how grateful I am for the help or kindness he or she rendered to me.
I am not a person with many words that is why I believe that anyone grateful should not only say it but express their act of gratitude with action.
There is no kindness that I call small whether it be once time, resources, or whatever a person can give to me out of love, I place it dear to my heart and always find a way to let them know how much I appreciate it.
That's one of the reasons, I feel bad and hurt if I get a present for a friend and don't see them using what I bought for them. I feel they are not as happy as I am over the present I bought for them or do not appreciate it.
