Happy Pi day! Yesterday after a short 1 mile run first thing in the morning I headed into town to return the sheet rock lift. Once home I got up to the studio and worked on the slider. I needed to figure out how to block the one window with foam to fill the gap since the slider is a TINY bit to small for the frame. I used the rigid foam and cut a 1 inch wide strip that I slid into the channel. When I slid the window closed I found I needed to hack the foam flush with the channel for the window to close properly.
With the slider flush against the foam I found an angle bracket to use for the base too hold the window in place. This is the closed side of the slider and need to be fixed so it doesn't move each time we close the door. It was handy that the screw on the frame was at the right height for the bracket to attach to it. I then screwed it down to the bottom frame to lock it in place.
In my stack of old sliders I had a door with handles on it which the one in the studio was missing. I popped it off and after a bit of wallowing out of the holes I managed to fit the handle to the slider in the studio. It is not perfect but nothing about the slider is, at least it has a handle now.
For birthday she spent part of her morning enjoying mimosas and reading on the deck in the nice warm Spring sun. R was out there with her reading in his Bearenstein Bears book.
The bees are kicking ass already. I have looked around my local area and have seen nothing that I could say has pollen but these bees are coming back to the hive saddled with little sachets of pollen tacked to their hind legs. We still have snow in the yard but they have managed to find something still laden with pollen. Maybe they are robbing a hive? At least I am sure they have figured out the top feeder.
The afternoon and evening we got fires going in the garden and the fire pit. I grilled steaks in the pit and with dinner and after we had adult beverages to finish out the night.
Today I have to get the electrical temporarily hooked up to the studio so we can get the heater going to heat the place up. If we want to mud and tape the walls need to be over 50F and it is in the 20s/30s at night still. This morning we will be having another mimosa made from the Goose Ridge Winery Cider from Richland WA that we have left. It is our last bottle so that means we will need to be taking a trip down that way soon to restock. Our primary goal for the day though is to get the floors cleaned in the house.
