Irresponsible industry needs to be controlled. Here in South Africa we’ve had a seriously disturbing incident involving a chemical company that flagrantly ignored the normal controls and rules, government has not penalized them although they’re responsible for flooding the rivers and seas around our coast with dangerous chemicals including arsenic https://www.timeslive.co.za/news/south-africa/2022-01-06-stay-clear-of-the-beach-durban-north-beaches-closed-after-substance-found-in-waters/
Now, due to the recent floods, a dam they used to contain their irresponsibility has overflowed and additional damage has occurred https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2022-04-12-upl-toxic-chemical-waste-leaks-on-to-durban-beaches-again-in-heavy-rains/
It’s truly heartbreaking to witness, and yes, the problem goes deeper, this week we’ve been advised to boil our tap water, we live in interesting times https://businesstech.co.za/news/government/581594/government-to-issue-boil-water-notices-as-south-africas-tap-water-quality-tanks/
Great, informative article, as usual ❤️🤗💕
