Hablar de cambio climático hay que definir primero y aclarar que cambio climático y calentamiento global son procesos diferentes pero se han asumido como sinónimos en el mundo social.
El cambio climático es la modificación del clima que ha tenido lugar a escala regional y global. Este trata de cambios de orden natural, pero actualmente, está asociado con el impacto humano sobre el planeta. A pesar que es estudiado científicamente desde varias décadas, es un fenómeno complejo con numerosas variables.
El calentamiento global es un aumento, en el tiempo, de la temperatura media de la atmósfera terrestre y de los océanos. Se postula que la temperatura se ha elevado desde finales del siglo XIX debido a la actividad humana, principalmente por las emisiones de CO2 que incrementaron el efecto invernadero. Se predice, además, que las temperaturas continuarán subiendo en el futuro si continúan las emisiones de gases invernadero. El aumento de la temperatura se ocasiona cuando los gases del efecto invernadero se acumulan en la atmósfera y atrapan el calor.
Estos dos elementos que se han hecho ver como sinónimos tienen diferentes significados, igual que las causas y consecuencias, han traido muchos cambios en la vida del Ser humano a nivel mundial.
Siendo el hombre que a través de actividades de superación llamado modernismo ha dado paso al aumento de gases en las diferentes actividades e inventos para una vida moderna, estas van a la atmósfera provocando el calentamiento que no ocurre de manera natural, de allí los cambios bruscos en sitios naturales. Se destruyen ecosistemas terrestres y marítimos.
Todo el cambio climático comenzó a incidir en el hombre al inicio de la revolución industrial.
El cambio climático requiere un plan de lucha global, así como
requiere de planes de mitigación globales, no solo a nivel gubernamental, sino también como ciudadanos, para conseguir un plan de lucha global. La necesidad de lucha contra el cambio climático requiere nuestra atención, haciéndose ahora más necesario que nunca.
Es una organización que participa en campañas sobre el cambio climático, esta se
compromete en campañas sobre la concienciación del cambio climático. Este compromiso social en el cambio por un modelo de vida sostenible vincula cambio climático, desarrollo sostenible y justicia social. Se hace necesario un cambio profundo, tanto en política como a nivel ciudadano.
Tiene como objetivo promover formas de vida sostenibles y reflexionar en el marco sobre justicia social de CIDSE y sus organizaciones adscritas, como Manos Unidas.
El objetivo es sensibilizar a la sociedad española de la importancia de alcanzar el acuerdo climático que se necesita para evitar los impactos ecológicos y sociales.
La campaña "Desarrollo y Justicia Climática" ha sido continua desde mediados del 2009 hasta la actualidad y se coordina con nuestra actividad y trabajo en red.
Entre las acciones que hay que tomar para controlar o que el efecto del cambio climático sea menos fuerte ya que viene en aceleración es un cambio de conciencia a nivel mundial, que a pesar de existir campañas que ofrecen soluciones está de parte de cada ciudadano asumir el reto.
Reto que consiste en hacer cambios desde el hogar algo así como que cada familia ponga en práctica cada una de las soluciones que se ofrecen desde hace décadas, estas son las siguientes:
*Reduce emisiones
*Ahorra energía para luchar contra el cambio climático
*Vigila los electrodomésticos
*Cambia las bombillas
*Pon en práctica las 3 ‘R’ de la sostenibilidad: reduce, reutiliza, recicla.
*Reducir el embalaje para luchar contra el cambio climático
*La dieta, mejor baja en carbono
*Actúa contra la pérdida de bosques
*Lucha contra el cambio climático utilizando menos agua caliente
*Apoya las energías renovables :como la solar, eólica, hidráulica
En la medida que se asuma practicar desde el hogar, los nuevos miembros de la familia van creando su programa viendo el ejemplo de los mayores, en beneficio de colaborar con los efectos del cambio climático.
