Good morning EcoTrain community. It's that moment to talk about Nature and our experiences around it. How are we connected to nature and of what use is nature to mankind? I will be sharing my experiences with nature and how it has helped me specifically which I am so grateful for. We all are open to bringing our thoughts and experiences about nature to this beautiful community, and we would be waiting to read from you. Also, this is in collaboration with Dreemport challenge for three weeks which I am proud to be part of the team. You can click this link for more instructions on how to join QOTW 10.5
I remembered when I was still a young girl and we would travel to my hometown. There is this old man we would always help to wash his clothes. My elder sister would summon everyone of us together to visit the stream in the village where we would pack those clothes plus grandma's own to go and wash. Sometimes I feel excited going to the stream because we know we would have fun and there are other days, I won't feel like going but would be forced to go with them.
I noticed when I am sad, once I get to the stream, I feel active and vibrant to wash clothes and thereafter start splashing water on ourselves, running and jumping from one rock to another and that would change my mood immediately.
Then, I never knew what nature was called. I never knew there was this connection you have with nature, especially feeling happier when you are around it.
My love for nature started growing when I finally understood what it means and how it has worked wonders for many people who wished to spend time with it.
Have you ever experienced having a bad thought but mere sitting with nature, you start to have a change of thought and you feel like you have got a super power to take you to another realm of thinking? I have been there before and I want to experience it more and more.
Visiting my hometown is always the best moment for me because nature surrounds us everywhere. Ranging from trees, sunsets, rain, sky, rocks, mountains, gardens, rivers, animals, fowls etc.
I grew fond of this biggest flower among others. It is planted at the back of the house. This has always been my spot anytime I feel like sitting down to enjoy the fresh breeze and air.
Looking at the big flower keeps me relaxed and connected to nature, and helps me wonder in beautiful imaginations, and makes me focused without any disturbances.
Sitting under this big tree is another way to be connected to nature. When you read, study, meditate or do any activity around nature, you will see how everything starts flowing in and help you understand quickly with no disturbances around you.
I have noticed that I assimilate and get inspired more when I am with nature because I feel less burdened about life and stress is taken away immediately from me. I concentrate and focus well and it helps relieve stress.
I have hurt myself so much as an introvert and if I had realized I can find answers to those complicating questions in my mind about life, I wouldn't have stayed and locked myself indoors all the years trying to find an answer, but all I would just do is to let it go because I don't have a choice and there was no one to talk to. I just waved it off and continued my life.
But something happened one day in my hometown and I decided to always spend time with nature anytime I feel like having negative thoughts.
I was inside my room that day and my mind kept going in circles, questioning my existence and getting moody all of a sudden. I was pessimistic about the future, and it looked as if I was useless with nothing to do about it. I felt rejected and dumped. I felt like the world was crumbling down on me and there was no answer.
I don't know what took me outside and I stood still, looking around the compound, I heard the sound of the goats and dogs behind the house and I decided to go check. As I got to the back of the house, I felt like sitting down on a rock, which I did. Then, the same thoughts from inside came back to me but as I looked at the sky, it was as if those thoughts were dropped down my shoulder. I felt peace reigning in my mind and it was like I had answers to those difficult questions.
I was connected mere looking at the sky and everywhere, and I became optimistic and never bothered about the future because I felt something dropped in my mind and whispered "God is always with you".
That connection with nature is onto another level entirely. Nature changes your perspective and the ways you view things in the wrong way. Nature guides your path and gives you directions on how to go about it. Nature helps you show gratitude and appreciate God who gave us a wonderful gift to embrace and make us calm.
Last week, I was outside cooking with my siblings in the evening and as I looked up to the sky, I was having positive thoughts and eulogizing God. My cousin looked at me and was confused and I told her if she could connect herself to the sky alone, she would receive answers to those raging questions in her mind because nature whispers and speaks to us if we can be calm to listen.
I love everything about nature as long as I am connected because I feel great warmth and the experience is something I can't fathom especially when you are relieved from life's worries and challenges.
Nature calms our anxieties and gives us answers if we are silent to understand what it is trying to communicate to us. When you sit with nature, especially beside the river, the flowing water and sound following it will talk to you and comfort you when you cooperate and give it a chance to talk to you. Be rest assured that your depressed mind would return back to a state of tranquility.
We are reconnected to our existence and we find true meaning to the purpose of why we are alive. We concentrate and understand in a new dimension.
Our intimacy and love for nature and mankind grows and it brings calmness and helps us develop our creativity.
We are connected to nature in so many ways and we would enjoy the moment when we decide to surrender every thought in us and leave them down for nature to take its course. Give nature a chance and see how great the connection would be.
If you are thinking you do not have any worth in life, try visiting nature anywhere and feel your life being renewed through connecting with nature.
