Family as primarily defines is a group of folks related by blood, marriage or reason of bond by companionship.
Some may say Family is one who sticks out his neck for you, care for you, love you, knows you, does all for your wellness and wishes you the best. This is very correct even as they are traits of family.
A person does not decide which family he or she is born into, he is born into the family, he grows in such a family and acclimatizes himself with the ways of the family both in external and internal cultures relating to the family.
The fact that one does not get to chose where he is born into has raised controversial topics even with the other side of the saying "born without a silver spoon".
I belong to a community where family is a very important part of a man's life.
I belong to a family of Nine (5 boys and 2 girls as children then my dad and Mom inclusive).
I was not born into a family who had the exquisite financial prowess but one thing for sure is that i knew i belonged to the family caused i was loved beyond measures.
I remember times we eat together, sing together, tell tales, share experiences, say a prayer together, even sleep together as the house was not quite big, all these activities increased our bonding and helped us understand each other better.
Family in its essence may not necessarily be you mom, dad, or siblings, it can be a friend of same or opposite gender who you are closely knitted to, it can be a group of people, it can even be a pet.
At a certain stage in life you get to chose a new family either by marriage or by sense of bonding and belonging.
A man may get married to a lady and has automatically placed himself into a new family.
Sometimes you move into a new environment maybe a workplace and u see yourself bonding with folks to a deeper level that they become automatically family.
The Fast and furious Family is an example of folks who has come together by means of profession and passion and has bonded so much to the point that they see each other as family and not just friends.
You can see how closely knitted they have become to the point that they are family even offset.
Another example is from the Holy Bible.
David and Jonathan.
they were so close that even Jonathan once told David that their hearts are connected and they have become family and not mere friends.
You could see that Jonathan's wishes for David was always well even when others wished him bad.
That is a true Family.
There is no better feeling as such as belonging to a family who cares and looks out for you even as they have at the best interest in their hearts.
You may not be born into the best family which you wish to maybe due to some fact of problems or issues but you have the power to make a new family either via your religion niche or workplace or place of living.
As the popular quote says ..."Having a place to go is home, having someone to love is family"...
We must care for each other and make the worl a safer place to live in.
