LET'S TALK ABOUT AFRICAN PARENTS.
Every adult in Nigeria and perhaps in Africa can totally relate with what I am about to say. Our parents all behave alike. It's like they all went to same school and were taught the same parenting method. Today parents are different because they seem to be more understanding and don't really take certain things to heart like the older generation of parents.
African parents would be the ones to remind you that they didn't send you to school for nothing. They are the ones that once they call you at the end of the month, you know it is because their bank hasn't sent any alert from you. They are the ones that will forbid you mentioning the word "girlfriend" or "boyfriend" at some certain age but they are still the one that will be asking you at 25 if you don't have a boyfriend or someone you want to marry then you wonder how they expect you to have one when they practically forbade you from having one some years back.
Sex educators would always tell us why it is important to discuss sex with your kids and educate them on all they need to know about their body changes, sex, teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and different ways of protecting oneself from all these but African parents have a very funny way of passing this information across without mentioning the word "sex".
How many of you have ever discussed your sex life with your parents?
If you are asked to choose between discussing your sex life with your parents or spending one week in prison, what will you choose?
