Assalamu alaikum how are you all friends. Hope you are well. By the grace of Allah, I am also well, InshaAllah.
Crickets are defenseless. Their bodies are soft. Most species are nocturnal and hide during the day in cracks, under tree bark, under leaves, behind rocks, in tree trunks, leaf piles or in cracks in the ground during hot weather. Some crickets make shallow holes in rotten trees or in the ground and hide their antennae in them.
These holes are temporary habitats, maybe for a day but others are their permanent habitat where they have sex and lay eggs. They soften the soil with their jaws to dig the soil, then push it with the hind legs or remove it with the head.
Other defenses include disguise, escape, and aggression. Some species have adapted to colors, shapes, or designs, making it difficult for predators to see or catch them. They are brown, gray or green in color which match where they live.
The insects that live in the desert are like pale sand. Some species can fly with wings but that is incomplete so they escape and hide quickly to avoid danger.
