Hi friends,
What did you do this weekend? For me, it must be a very long time that I did not have an actual day off. I'm always busy with my work and some projects. So on Friday, I decided to have some real day off that meant no online chatting, no disturb, no thoughtful mind. I wanted to free up my mind. I packed my bag with a vacuum tumbler of warm water, some biscuits, some money, my phone, a charger, my notebook. I started to drive away far from the city. I wondered where I wanted to go? I drove and drove following not my mind but my heart. I let my heart lead me... After more than 30 minutes, I came to Ke Ngang lake.
Khe Ngang Lake
This is the picture I took in the summer. I forgot to take a panoramic image so I use the old one. Hope you can imagine how beautiful it is.
I did not know why I got there but it cooled my soul, freed up my mind when I was in front of the huge lake and the vast sky surrounded by ranges of mountains. I felt how small I was. Looking at the birds flying, I wished that I could be like them. The birds flying freely drew my attention for quite a long time. I opened my mask and took deep breaths, feeling the fresh air. I got better and better. After that, I thought of a place where I could stay comfortably for a gloomy day. I drove back to the road and it just took 2 minutes to arrive. That was "Đời thường" Cafe where I usually visited before covid period.
The entrance to the coffee shop.
But it was nearly 6 months that I did not come there. I entered the coffee shop and waved my hand to greet the owner. "Đời thường" Cafe means "Simple Life" because the owner doesn't build it as a coffee shop to serve beverages. He did it for him and her wife. You can't imagine how he is meticulous. Each corner, each kind of plant there was chosen by himself and even taken care of by only him. He designed it by himself with his love, appreciation, affection. Once I asked him: "Do you plant these flowers for your wife?". He just responded slightly with a shy smile, "Yes.". But his eyes revealed the most happiness and the sweet love to his partner. It was so nice and lovely. People can hide emotions behind their words but they can't hide through the eyes. That's why every time I visit there, I always feel peaceful, happy, and comfortable.
It is true that the place where we live expressed our spirits. When we are in happy love, our faces can't be sad.

Flower Tigons
Tigons are a symbol of love because their shape is like a heart.
It was cold today but bright. Seeing me a bit trembling, he prepared a fireplace for me. That was so kind. And I chose green tea to enjoy the vibe of soothing music. I got lazier and lazier. I just wanted to lean on the wall nearby the heater, feeling the heat warm myself a little by a little, drinking a cup of tea, and looking outside. The rush of life still happened outside but at that time, for me, I was just like a lazy cat lying on a pampered pillow. My thinking mind became lesser and lesser. I fell asleep for a while... Such a pleasant feeling... I was entirely relaxed.
The heater
I love the teapot. Really nice.
I stayed there until the evening. Oh I didn't realize that he turned on all the lights in the room. Only one word in my head. Cozy! Only me in a spacious room but I didn't feel alone because surrounding me there were several yellow-light lamps in different shapes. Sometimes we don't need more than that feeling. Cozy. I felt more his delication in every little thing. Little things are called love. Without any fancy colorful clothes, he and his wife still exude sophistication and depth. They are simple people but not trivial. They reminded me of the sentence.
“We cannot all do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” ~ Mother Teresa.
So I would like to share with you many photos of the special coffee shop. I hope you'll enjoy it and the place can also inspire you to love what you do and do what you love.
