Purnima or call it FullMoon Day, has always a special significance on Hinduism. However the Sawan Purnima got some more special attention on account of being associated with God Shiva.
One of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar, Sawan Purnima, is being observed by devotees of Lord Shiva today. This year Sawan Purnima assumes more significance as it coincides with Sawan Somwar - a day dedicated to Shiva. And additionally, it today also mark the day for brother & sisters.
So on this day due to Pandemic, we were restricted to go out for any special worship, so made a makeshift arrangement at home.
Thanks to the local priest, the puja performed well in a short notice given. Being an important day, we use to have loads of fruit offered during the worship which was later distributed as prasad
Aparr from the auspicious Monday, we also have a Rakshabandhan festival. Whuch usually happens on the last day of Sawan month.
On Rakshabandhan, a sister ties a rakhi around the wrist of her brother in order to pray for his prosperity, health and well-being. The brother in return offers a gifts and promises to protect his sister from any harm and supports in any kind of circumstances.
Indian festival is not complete, until.we have sweets. And Rasgulla is always an all time favourite for all.
Over all along with the Purnima puja and later the Rakhi festival makes up a perfect day today and feeling quite blissfull. Such tradition and culture can only be experienced in India. Having vast culture and many tradition. When we have multiple things on a single day it make the occassion quite memorable.
