Some people post over-edited selfies, clickbait, or crypto price charts. I prefer personal results that address a critical global problem.
Recycled sales revenue in the last 24 hours was pretty strong at $775, even after factoring in a $140 cancellation.
I march on with my posts to earn a Splinterlands plot, and also to continue to provide constant examples of how we can make an impact on the strain the world's population puts on the environment if we TRY.
Check out 5 recent sales of items I found for free in my city's curbside recycling...
Look familiar from my last post?
Sold for $400 cash for cat called Bubbles. Recycled weight of 24 pounds.
If you ever see one of these, take it. These are insanely popular. The three I've found have all sold nearly instantly once I list them. I was a little slow on listing this one to not flip it within 24 hours of finding it like the previous two. This one sold in a day and half after finding it (ha), but within half a day of my listing going live.
I also have just the base from another unit that works, but the serial number has been deactivated to not be able to link up to their app via wifi. This is likely due to a factory replacement being sent to the prior owner who probably didn't try to resolve the issue I seem to have fixed rather easily. I'll be able to sell plenty of good parts online for a solid return since these are in such high demand.
Sold online for $140. Weight with recycled packaging of 8 pounds 6 ounces.
Current/recent medical textbooks are easy money. This one had no writing or marks, and the online code inside wasn't even scratched off. While some of these can be heavy for shipping, USPS media mail makes it super cheap to send them anywhere in the US. It took about 30 days to sell this from when I found it.
Sold online for parts/repair for $80. Weight with recycled packaging of 8 pounds 6 ounces.
This part took a while to sell after several price reductions. If I knew this part worked, it'd be a $200 part, but I couldn't because I removed it from a dishwasher on the curbs. I was honest with my listing and the buyer that spoke Spanish to make sure they knew this was untested and might not work/to expect it to not work. He appreciated the courtesy and agreed. Thanks Google translate. I need to play it safe because buyers can sometimes rush a purchase and not realize that parts/repair means it's being sold as non-working.
Sold for $120 cash. Recycled weight of 2 pounds.
I wasn't completely sure if this Max Mara coat was authentic, so I disclosed this to the buyer to make sure they were ok with it. They loved the coat and bought it anyway. I could've brought it in to a Max Mara store to get verified, but I took the bird in hand.
That's 3 of the 4 Max Mara coats sold from a find about a year ago... $300 cash, $200 cash, $120 cash...
Miele vacuum sold for $140 cash. Recycled weight of 13 pounds 4 ounces.
Yes, almost always a Miele. This was an easy sale. Miele vacs usually sell within 1-3 days of listing. This one was a bit delayed from when I found it because I had to buy a replacement wheel for $13. With all of the parts I have, I surprisingly didn't have this wheel. Instead of waiting to find one, I bought it and got it over with.
I have a standing order for another Miele with a powerhead as soon as I get it.
Summary:
- $880 revenue/5 items = $176 average revenue each. Solid!
- 59% of $880 revenue received as cash. Also solid.
- Total weight saved of 56 pounds. The real value...
- Cost of $13 for replacement vacuum wheel. A rarity.
Here's one of the several good items I found last night... a vintage camera setup found right across from my building.
In closing, as those who know me over the years can appreciate, the value in my post isn't in the entertainment from the handful of items I post about. It's about the passion and hustle I consistently exhibit off-chain to produce the posts, and goal of motivating others to address this problem. Hive is not the answer. Actions are the answer.
Thanks as always for your interest and support.
