When crypto drops, I get very motivated to hustle. I want go berserk on a hunt tonight and list items all weekend, but had to go visit family since they flew in from Europe. It’ll be my first time seeing them since New Years Eve into 2020. Kinda weird...
Anyway, I’m staying committed to producing examples of household items I’ve saved from the curbs before they’re crushed on a truck.
Here we go with six more.
141 Magna-Tiles:
- Sold via a local app for $115.
- Shipped per request using a USPS flat rate box.
- All found together in one bag.
- These magnetic tiles have great resale value.
- This is my second large set of these I’ve sold. I previously sold a set of 135 tiles for $100 cash.
- As a favor these days, I wipe each down with disinfectant since they’re going to be used by kids.
- Recycled weight of 9 lbs 11oz.
5 Panasonic Security Cameras:
- Sold untested for $70 cash.
- They’re worth much more, but I sold them for a discount since couldn’t test them.
- Given how I found them, I knew they were being purged with other tech, and would work, but I don’t false advertise.
- Recycled weight of 2 lbs.
Tanning Sun Lamp:
- Sold for $100 cash.
- Worked perfectly with good bulb.
- This was a discontinued model where replacement bulbs are tough to get.
- Sold to an older woman who had been looking all over for this exact model to replace hers that was broken. She was thrilled.
- Recycled weight of 5 lbs.
Air Purifier:
- Sold for $80 cash.
- I find lots of units like this, but usually only take ones I can get $75+ on to justify the space in my apt.
- I’m thrilled when I sell these for the space, but always seem to immediately find another outside. It’s a blessing and a curse.
- Recycled weight of 17 lbs 8 oz.
Miele Vacuum:
- Sold for $120 cash.
- Simply had a clog in bottom component that I cleared in 2 minutes. Silly.
- Miele is such an easy brand to sell. Never toss it.
- It was worth around $150, but I wanted to move it faster.
- Recycled weight of 22 lbs 2 oz.
Dyson Vacuum:
- Sold for $100 cash.
- Nothing fancy, but I can’t leave it behind.
- I have over a dozen of the floor powerhead attachments from various Dyson vacuums I’ll be trying out on two main test units. They add up individually, selling between $40 and $75.
- Recycled weight of 17 lbs.
—————-
- 6 sales / $575 revenue = $95.83 per find.
- All revenue received as cash/Venmo.
- 5 sold in-person. One shipped.
- No costs outside of one USPS package.
- 73.4 pounds salvaged and reused!

I’m posting 5-6 examples here to spread out the recent results since I don’t have millions of examples. I’m also being more detailed for each as you can see, a fair trade versus my typical 10 examples with less info.
The amount of items here in no way shape or form correlates to the amount of effort I put into finding, restoring, fixing, selling and shipping them. My effort is intended to help the environment, others, and to support myself so I can keep doing this while patiently waiting for crypto to do its thing. It’s been almost 6 years since I worked for anyone else, or at all... These things are my rewards.
