Hello! Plant update time!!!
It's April 4th today but I'd still write a plant update for April 1st. Haha. It's a good day because we have already harvested a few leaves of bok choy!
These freshly picked bok choys were cooked for tinola. :)
Out of the sixteen new bok choy seeds I planted the other week, only about 7 have successfully sprouted. Recently, frogs have used the garden bed as a chilling space and they would dig the soil and cram its huge body in it. Some of the vacant spaces on the garden bed almost looked like moon craters. Lol. And sometimes they would dig the part where I planted the seeds. Ugh.
Anyway, the leaves of the older bok choys have grown wider and they're such a happy sight to see.
Next is the bok choy's neighbor, the bellpeppers! Good news because they have sped up growing since the last 2 or 3 weeks. The tallest is probably around 9 inches already.
Sunflowers have also shown good progress. More leaves are sprouting though some of the leaves were eaten which alarming because I spray garlic spray on it too to prevent pests from eating its leaves. If pests don't touch them, the sunflowers might grow successfully.
For the bitter gourd, its vines grow longer each and now actually covers half of the mesh screen.
Meanwhile, the ponkan and papaya remained the same. They needed to be transfered on a bigger container but the problem is that we are out of compost so we have to wait until the pandemic is over to buy another.
I also planted some tomato seeds last March 27 and as of writing this post, the seeds still haven't sprouted. Lol. Maybe I'll plant another batch tomorrow.
That's all! Until my next plant update! :)
