As each season changes, there comes with it, a subtle change in energy which affects us all, whether we are conscious of it or not. When we choose to acknowledge these changes, we begin to understand the natural flow of these energies, and begin to move more in harmony with them.
Gifting ourselves, with the best possible conditions in which to grow and. Empowering us to bring about the change we wish to see in ourselves and the world.
The first step in this journey, calls on us to slow down and observe, to observe our natural surroundings and the way in which they are affected by each season, each lunar and solar cycle. This is s wonderful time to map out the movements of the sun and the moon and to take note of how they affect us. Allowing us to become true in inhabitants of the earth.
Growing up in Ireland, I felt called to celebrate the Eight Celtic Festivals. The quarter points, which are the Solstices and the Equinoxes and the Cross quarter points. Each of these festivals, calls on us to observe the the underlying energy of the earth, how it affects us and how we can utilize it within our own lives. It is time to honour the Earth and all of her inhabitants. As well as to honour all that we have achieved and all that no longer serves us.
We can come together as a community and celebrate one another, or we can chose to celebrate by ourselves or just with family. It really depends on how you feel, as honouring ourselves, is a huge part of it all.
Each festival I celebrate, has a different focus, which allows me to bring more structure into my life, as I make a conscious connection to the passage of time and my place within it.
It is so important to honour our connection to the earth, to honour our relationship with nature. There was a time, when I viewed humankind as nothing more than parasites, as I witnessed all the destruction that we caused. But by believing in that, I was denying my responsibility to the earth and with it the many benefits that occur when you live in harmony with nature.
As I celebrate these cycles, I am awakening the wisdom that is buried deep within, wisdom that has helped me to regain my commitment to respect, love and honour Mother Earth. This journey has allowed me to reach a inner stillness, which continues to deepen my relationship with nature and with myself. A calmness, that has really helped me to get through these last few years.
As Winter Solstice approaches, it brings with it a shift in energy, with the sun returning, we are called to give birth to our visions and name our dreams, which will grow with the increasing light. A wonderful opportunity for inner reflection and personal growth, whilst once again honouring our relationship with the earth.
