Tomorrow I will be holding a Mother Blessing, for a friend of mine, I have spend some time today going over the process and making sure that that I have everything covered. For some, the word ritual can have some real negative connotations, being seen as some that conjures up some dark and negative. However rituals have always been a part of our lives, with some more profound than others.
Right now, I believe that society at large, is ritual thirsty. That there is a real longing, for the sweet nectar that will inspire us to take charge of our lives and create rich and powerful ceremonies. So that we can really begin to acknowledge and celebrate the many transitions within our lives, our many rites of passage.
At the core of any ritual, is the powerful act of bringing people together, to celebrate life. To create a sacred and safe space that weaves a web of support around the person or persons being honoured. It provides a wonderful opportunity to explore all the joys and challenges that they may be facing or that may lie ahead of them, as they enter this next phase of their lives.
This web of support, gives them a rich sense of confidence and power, helping to prepare them, spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. It allows us to weave outside of ourselves and create community, empowering ourselves and each other. With each person involved in the ritual, part of that process and reaping the rewards of it.
As we create a conscious connection with one another, with the earth and ourselves, we begin to thrive, to heal, to grow. Enabling us to transform, into the next stage of our lives. Being part of a ritual, allows us to step out of the busyness of everyday and connect more deeply with ourselves and one another. Giving us more clarity, more awareness and respect for what is to come.
When you participate in a ritual or rite of passage, it is really important to remain open, allowing you, to begin exploring the great power that we all hold within. To really celebrate and honour it, so that you can harness it, enabling you to create positive change within your life.
It gives us the opportunity to really reflect on who we are, where we have come from and where we are headed. Something we badly need right now, as we undergo this huge change in the world.
As we move forward, we need to be promoting the importance of good health and overall well being. Being part of a ritual, in a safe and secure space really helps us to do just this.
Most Rituals take place in circles. Sitting in a circle, is really quite powerful, as we gather together with others, facing one another, allowing ourselves to open up, to trust one another and work together. Which is really the basis of community.
We get to see one another shine, as we step into a supportive role, a role that that we choose to be a part of and which also re-energises us. When we open ourselves up and work together we begin to tap into the divine inspiration that surrounds us all. Allowing us, to really step into our role as creators.
Tomorrow as I honour my friend and her journey into motherhood, as I, along with her friends weave a web of support around her, we will be pampering her, celebrating her and showering her with love. Sharing songs and stories that will re energise and empower us all. Celebrating what it is, to be a part of a community.
