The problem of offering prayers at prohibited times
There are a total of five times in which prayer is generally prohibited, and they are:
1- At sunrise, 2- When the sun is overhead, 3- At sunset, 4- After Asr prayer until sunset, 5- After Fajr prayer until sunrise,
The reason for the prohibition of prayer in the first three mentioned times,
Uqbah bin Amir Jahni (RA) said that there are three times when the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade us to pray and bury our dead: One is when the sun is rising until it rises. Second, when it is noon until the sun goes down, third when the sun is about to set, until it sets.
(Sahih Muslim, 1929)
Argument of the latter two times,
On the authority of Hazrat Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade praying twice, after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises and after the Asr prayer until the sun sets.
(Sahih Bukhari 588)
The prayers which are negated in the above mentioned times are absolute nawafils, according to Rajih Qul, Sabba prayers can be offered in these times such as Tahiyat al-Masjid, two rak'ahs of Tawaf, etc.
As for the matter of performing the obligatory prayers during these times, if a person forgets or falls asleep, then as soon as he remembers or if the person wakes up, he should immediately perform the prayers, there is no need to wait.
As narrated by Hazrat Anas bin Malik (RA) from the Prophet (PBUH), he (PBUH) said: If someone forgets to pray, he should pray whenever he remembers. Apart from this expiation, there is no expiation due to it. And (Allah the Exalted said) establish the prayer when I remember,
(Sahih Bukhari 597)
In the recent past, the famous muftis of the world of Islam, Allama Ibn Baz and Allama Ibn Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on them, have the same fatwa.
Note! If two sunnahs of Fajr are left, they can be read after fulfilling the obligation, as is the tradition of Hazrat Qais in Tirmidhi.
And if you want, read it after Ishraq, as there is a hadith of Hazrat Abu Hurairah in Ibn Majah.
