There was a time in my life when I felt like I had something to offer, but nobody seemed to notice. It’s a quiet kind of feeling, just to myself, am just been here not dramatic… just there. I try too, you do your best, but it feels like it’s not enough or maybe not seen at all.
I used to think maybe I needed to do something bigger, louder, something that would force people to pay attention they will really notice. But that kind of thinking only made me tired. I was chasing recognition instead of focusing on what I could actually do well.
My parents had a different way of seeing things. My father once told me, “Do your work well, even if nobody is clapping. The value will show itself with time.”my intention were is it supposed to be, I didn’t fully believe that at first, because in today’s world, everything feels fast. People want results now, attention now. Waiting feels like falling behind.
But over time, I started noticing something small. When I focused on doing what I could do best, without overthinking who was watching, I improved. Slowly, not in a big way, but enough to see a difference. And that difference gave me confidence.
My mother also used to say, “You don’t need to shout your value, just don’t hide it.” and I really appreciate that but that part confused me for a while. But now I understand. It means you should not downplay yourself or stay invisible. It’s okay to show your work, to speak about what you can do, but not in a desperate way. Just honestly.
There is a balance in this. You do your best quietly, but you also allow yourself to be seen. Not everyone will notice, and that’s okay. The right people will.
I’ve also learned that value is not always immediate. Sometimes you are growing in ways that are not visible yet. It feels slow, even frustrating. But stopping won’t help. If anything, it delays everything.
Today, I try to remind myself that my job is simple. Keep improving what I know how to do. Keep showing up. Keep sharing, even if the response is small.
Because in the end, value is not something you force people to see. It’s something you build over time.
And one day, without too much noise, it becomes clear.
