Hello readers, It's another amazing week in the korea village community and this week, I will be sharing something amazing with you all, something that's like my hobby, and that's reading webtoon comics. If you are conversant with my blog, you would know I write about webtoon comics, anime, and animation. This is something I have loved to read and I can spend a lot of hours talking about it.
Do you know that K-Webtoons are also called manhwa, or is it just me who calls them that? I wonder, but if there are comic readers here, I am sure some of them, or all of them, will agree with me.
I have read a lot of K-Webtoon and am currently still reading many others, which is why it is very hard for me to pick any favorite. But before the ending of this blog, I will tell you about a K-Webtoon you should read, and you will love it.
One of the reasons I love K-Webtoon is because everything surrounding the manhwa is centered around South Korea. I have read a lot of webtoons. I feel like if I found myself in South Korea, I would be able to find my way around because the same cities and places are mostly used when the author is writing his work.
Another reason I love K-Webtoon is because they are almost always in color, unlike manga that comes out in black and white. Now, I am not saying I don't like the black and white art; I do but the art is cooler when it comes out in color, and this was one of the things that got me hooked on K-Webtoon.
Another thing you need to know about K-Webtoon is that the art gets better as you read it; the storylines are always like you are watching a K-drama. I have tried many times to introduce K-Webtoon to my friends who watch K-Drama; while some of them love it, some just don't want to give it a try.
One of my favourite K-Webtoon is Lookism.
This manhwa is a very interesting one, and I think there would be an adaptation of the K-drama soon, if they haven't released it yet. It's about a boy named Park Hyung Seok; he was given the gift to switch between two bodies. One of the bodies is that of a fat and chubby short guy, while the other one is that of a tall and handsome guy.
One of the reasons I love this webtoon is that it talks about high schoolers, teenage activities, and bullies. It's giving the vibes of "Alchemy of Souls and Weak Hero" if you know what I mean.
This is from the beginning of the webtoon and you might think the art is too poor for you to enjoy it, but trust me. It continues to get better and better. The guy in that image holding a cup of drink and looking like he is under pressure is the same guy in the image below, after many chapters and refining of the art.
My experience with the K-Webtoon has been an amazing one and I don't think I willstop reading more K-Webtoon content anytime soon. If you haven't read anyone, you can give "Lookism" a try, and trust me, you would love it.
Thanks for reading. My name is Fashtioluwa.
