It's night already. A time to rest, reflect on today's activities. A time to correct myself and teach myself how to do better where I made mistakes. A time to remind myself that after every storm, there's always a calm.
I'm seated outside, reminiscing. The stars are shining really bright and beautiful. I wish I had a better camera to share how beautiful the sky looks today. The calm, and steady breeze makes my rest feels even better. Today's calm makes me feel like I have never been through any storm before. I guess this is the calm I get after facing the storms of today.
So, lately, I find my self learning some Korean adage. Just like many languages out there, Koreans also have proverbs they use. Though some of them are the proverbs we already know, translated to Korean. It's actually calm ya'know.
There is one particular adage that I really love. The adage says "At the end of hardship comes happiness." ~ Unknown. (고생 끝에 낙이 온다 (Gosaeng kkeut-e nag-i on-da) ~ Unknown. I'm actually somebody that loves motivational quotes, so, I was captivated by this one. I could think of a thousand and one scenario when I've faced many hardships, but then, I got happiness afterwards. Though not all events gave me happiness. However, the lessons taught by those hardships gave me quality experience which, to me, is worth more than anything.
From my perspective, I think this adage is on the context of the hardships that comes with self development and improvement. I think it also touches the aspects of the difficulties involved in keeping a good relationship with people.
When it comes to putting in efforts to develop oneself, many people will try to change the topic. The run away from the hardships that comes with extreme discipline. They forget the fact that if they could endure that hardship that comes with building their level of discipline, they will be happy with the way their life would turn out to be.
In life many people give up due to the things that life throws at them. Some people tried every thing they could, but then, it seems like their best was not enough. Some persons were not able to cope with the hardships that came with success, thus, they gave up.
Well, this adage serves to remind us that after every goal-oriented hardship, after every suffering, there is always joy and happiness at the end. We just have to try, and keep doing better that we were doing.
Thank you for reading.
