Many people want a smooth sailing life that has no blockage or waves. People want a life without challenges, and they want goodies to come their way irrespective of whether or not they work for it.
I think it's a good thing. Though I don't want that because I have come to understand that in life, I must work for anything I want or need. As a matter of fact, at my current stage, I find it difficult to receive gifts because I don't want to feel indepted to somebody. I always try everything possible to balance the equation. If you give me something, I'll try my best to give something of similar value.
I learnt this from studying business men nowadays and merchants from the old days. They don't give things for free. If you receive something from someone, or if someone starts acting nice all of a sudden, there is a high probability that they want something from you, which in most cases, has a very high value as compared to what they gave you.
Life is a beautiful thing. Human behaviour, to me, is more beautiful. I do say this, and I will always say it, "human behaviour is one of the most interesting movie there is to watch." Maybe I think it is interesting because I so much in love with psychology.
So, there's a nice quote I read today. Though it's not the first time I saw this quote, it reminded me of what my mom always tell me.
The quote for today is:
Life is what we make of it.
인생은 우리가 만드는 것이다.
(Insaeng-eun uriga mandeuneun geosida.)

Life is truly what we make of it. My mom always tell me something similar, though not the same words. She says, the way you make your bed in the morning, is how you'll come back to lay on it in the night. Basically, what you make of your bed, will determine the level of comfort you get when you come back to lay on it in the night when you're exhausted from the days work.
There are different type of people in life. Some people want to make their life as nice and smooth sailing when they are old, so, they try everything possible to hustle, invest and save up for when they have grey hair. They don't spend their youth doing irrelevant things, however, they spend their youth trying to bag a lot of money for their comfortability when they begin to lose their youthful strength.
Conversely, some people don't actually want to work, but they want to eat. They spend their youth chasing clout. The spend every time and penny they have. They drink away their life in the name of flexing and having fun. They spend their youth constantly enjoying themselves and they forget (or they are ignorant of the fact) that one day, the youthful energy will vanish.
The thing is, life is a hundred percent what we make of it. You can't spend all your life on irrelevant things in your youth, and expect to get relevant things in your old age. It goes without saying that, when we invest positively in our lives, we will definitely reap positive rewards. However, when we invest negatively in our life, we will definitely yield what we showed.
