This is the first time i posted here but i just watched or should i say binge watched this kdrama very recently and i just wanna talk about it and i believe it is one drama that has been got a lot of attention at least back then and even till now on people’s recommendation lists, and honestly if you have not seen it yet, you might be missing out on something really solid. I am talking about City Hunter, and if you like action, revenge plots, romance, and a bit of political conspiracy, this show will definitely catch your interest.
So the whole concept of this of the show is honestly crazy but in a very fun and emotional way, point on the emotional. The story basically starts with a secret mission gone wrong years ago, where a group of men were betrayed by their own government and left to die. One man survives, and instead of just moving on, he dedicates his life to revenge. But not in a simple way. He raises a child, trains him, and basically turns him into a weapon meant to punish those responsible.
That child grows up to become Lee Yoon-sung, the main character. He looks like a normal guy working in the Blue House(Presidential villa), but in reality, he is living a double life. By day, he is just another employee. By night, he becomes this mysterious figure going after corrupt politicians and powerful people who think they are untouchable.
Now this is where things get really interesting, because unlike typical revenge stories, this one is not just about killing people or taking them down violently. Lee actually exposes corruption and forces these powerful figures to face consequences in a more strategic way. It is like watching a game of chess and every move matters.
One thing I personally like about City Hunter is how it balances everything. You have action, but you also have romance, especially with Kim Na na(My crush!!). Their relationship adds a softer side to the story, but at the same time, it creates tension because of Yoon-sung’s secret life. You are constantly wondering what will happen if the truth comes out.
Another cool thing is how the drama slowly reveals the past. You do not get everything at once. Instead, you get flashbacks and pieces of information that slowly build up the bigger picture. The suspense is slowly and nicely faded away, thankfully i watched everything all at once. It keeps you hooked because you are always trying to connect the dots and understand the full story behind the betrayal. Of course, the main focus of the drama is the missions and the revenge plot, and they are intense. The confrontations are not just physical fights, even though those are really well done. There are also mind games, emotional conflicts, and moments where Yoon-sung himself starts questioning what he is doing.
But let me talk about something that really stood out to me, the music. The OST in this drama is honestly real good. Even though I dont understand Korean, the songs just hit you. There is something about the melody and the emotion behind it that just pulls you in. The one that really stayed with me is City Hunter Goodbye. That song is so catchy but also emotional at the same time.
Like you might not even know what they are saying word for word, but you can feel it. It plays during some really key moments and it just amplifies everything you are seeing. It is one of those songs that once you hear it, it just sticks in your head. You catch yourself humming it randomly without even realizing it. Just honestly speaking, City Hunter is a great watch if you enjoy action dramas with a strong story and emotional depth.
And the best part is that once you start watching it, you will probably find yourself saying “just one more episode” again and again, because every episode ends in a way that makes you want to keep going. I even learnt that the drama is quite old but still really enjoyable

여기 처음 글을 올리는데, 최근에 이 K드라마를 보고, 아니면 몰아서 봤다고 해야 할까요, 정말로 이야기하고 싶어서 글을 씁니다. 이 드라마는 예전에도 지금도 사람들의 추천 목록에서 많은 주목을 받았던 드라마라고 생각해요. 솔직히 아직 보지 않으셨다면, 정말 좋은 작품을 놓치고 계실지도 몰라요. 제가 말하고 있는 것은 시티헌터인데요, 액션, 복수 플롯, 로맨스, 그리고 약간의 정치 음모를 좋아하신다면 이 드라마는 분명히 당신의 관심을 끌 것입니다.
그래서 이 쇼의 전체 개념은 솔직히 말해서 미친 것 같지만, 매우 재미있고 감정적으로, 감정적인 부분에 중점을 두고 있어요. 이 이야기는 기본적으로 몇 년 전 비밀 임무가 잘못되어 한 무리의 남자들이 자신들의 정부에 배신당하고 죽임을 당한 곳에서 시작됩니다. 한 남자가 살아남고, 단순히 잊고 넘어가는 대신 복수에 자신의 삶을 바칩니다. 하지만 단순한 방식은 아니었다. 그는 아이를 키우고 훈련시켜서 기본적으로 책임을 묻기 위한 무기로 만든다.
그 아이는 성장하여 주인공 이윤성으로 자라납니다. 그는 청와대에서 일하는 평범한 사람처럼 보이지만, 실제로는 이중생활을 하고 있습니다. 낮에는 그는 평범한 직원일 뿐이다. 밤이 되면 그는 부패한 정치인들과 자신들이 손대지 못할 것이라고 생각하는 권력자들을 쫓는 신비로운 인물이 된다.
이제 여기서부터 정말 흥미로워집니다. 전형적인 복수 이야기와는 달리, 이 이야기는 단순히 사람들을 죽이거나 폭력적으로 처치하는 것이 아닙니다. 이 실제로 부패를 폭로하고 이 권력자들이 더 전략적인 방식으로 결과를 직면하게 만듭니다. 마치 체스 게임을 보는 것 같고, 모든 수가 중요합니다.
제가 개인적으로 시티헌터에서 좋아하는 점 중 하나는 모든 것을 잘 균형 잡고 있다는 거예요. 액션도 있지만, 특히 김나나(내 crush!!)와의 로맨스도 있어요. 그들의 관계는 이야기의 부드러운 면을 더해주지만, 동시에 윤성의 비밀스러운 삶 때문에 긴장을 유발합니다. 당신은 진실이 드러나면 어떻게 될지 끊임없이 궁금해하고 있습니다.
또 다른 멋진 점은 드라마가 과거를 천천히 드러낸다는 것입니다. 모든 것을 한 번에 다 알 수는 없어요. 대신에, 플래시백과 조각조각의 정보가 제공되어 점차 전체 그림을 완성해 나갑니다. 서스펜스는 천천히 그리고 멋지게 사라졌고, 다행히도 저는 모든 것을 한 번에 봤습니다. 항상 점을 연결하고 배신 뒤에 숨겨진 전체 이야기를 이해하려고 하기 때문에 계속 몰입하게 됩니다. 물론, 드라마의 주요 초점은 미션과 복수 계획이며, 이들은 매우 강렬합니다. 대결은 단순히 신체적인 싸움만이 아니라, 정말 잘 만들어진 부분이기도 합니다. 또한 심리전, 감정적 갈등, 그리고 윤성이 자신이 하고 있는 일을 의심하기 시작하는 순간들도 있습니다.
하지만 정말 눈에 띄었던 것에 대해 이야기해볼게요, 음악입니다. 이 드라마의 OST는 솔직히 정말 좋아요. 비록 한국어를 이해하지 못해도, 노래가 정말 와닿아요. 멜로디와 그 뒤에 숨겨진 감정이 뭔가 사람을 끌어당기는 게 있어요. 정말로 기억에 남는 것은 시티 헌터 굿바이입니다. 그 노래는 정말 중독성이 강하면서도 동시에 감정적이에요.
그들이 무슨 말을 하는지 한 마디 한 마디 다 알지 못할 수도 있지만, 그 감정은 느낄 수 있어요. 그 곡은 정말 중요한 순간들에 흐르고, 당신이 보고 있는 모든 것을 증폭시켜 줍니다. 그 노래는 한 번 들으면 머릿속에 박히는 그런 노래 중 하나예요. 무의식적으로 그 멜로디를 흥얼거리고 있는 자신을 발견하게 될 거예요. 솔직히 말해서, 시티 헌터는 강한 스토리와 감정적 깊이를 가진 액션 드라마를 좋아한다면 정말 좋은 시청거리입니다.
그리고 가장 좋은 점은 한 번 보기 시작하면 "한 에피소드만 더"라고 계속 말하게 될 거라는 거예요. 왜냐하면 매 에피소드가 계속 보고 싶게 끝나거든요. 심지어 이 드라마가 꽤 오래된 것이라는 것도 알게 되었지만 여전히 정말 재미있어요.
