😝 National Supreme Sacrifice Day! / ¡Día Nacional del Supremo Sacrificio! 😎

National Day of Supreme Sacrifice is a holiday observed annually on March 18 to honor the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for their country. It is also a day to honor those who sacrificed their lives for their communities or neighbors. It is our duty to take a few moments each day to recognize what these men and women gave for the safety of their communities and their country.

El Día Nacional del Sacrificio Supremo es una festividad que se celebra anualmente el 18 de marzo para rendir homenaje a los hombres y mujeres que han sacrificado sus vidas por su país. También es un día para honrar a quienes sacrificaron sus vidas por sus comunidades o vecinos. Es nuestro deber dedicar unos instantes de nuestro día a reconocer lo que estos hombres y mujeres dieron por la seguridad de sus comunidades y su país.

This holiday has been celebrated since the early 2000s, but no one knows for sure who started it or when. However, we do know that it has been faithfully observed since at least 2004 or 2005. There are various ways to remember and honor fallen heroes, regardless of whether they are military personnel or first responders. The purpose of this holiday is to honor those who gave their lives for their communities and countries. This can be achieved by attending ceremonies and tributes, remembering the names of fallen heroes, and participating in events that support first responders and members of the armed forces.

Esta festividad se celebra desde principios de la década de 2000 pero nadie sabe con certeza quién la inició ni cuándo. Sin embargo, sí sabemos que se ha celebrado fielmente desde al menos 2004 o 2005.
Existen diversas maneras de recordar y honrar a los héroes caídos, independientemente de si son militares o personal de primera respuesta .
El propósito de este día festivo es honrar a quienes dieron su vida por sus comunidades y países. Esto se puede lograr asistiendo a ceremonias y homenajes, recordando los nombres de los héroes caídos y participando en eventos que apoyen a los socorristas y miembros de las fuerzas armadas.

We deeply admire their bravery and celebrate their courage. They inspire us to strive harder and fight for good in our world. We will always be indebted to these heroes for their service and selfless actions. By commemorating this day, we demonstrate that we have not forgotten, nor will we ever forget, their great acts of service. We also demonstrate that their sacrifices were not in vain. We remember them. By celebrating this holiday, the memories remain with us and never die in our minds. We cherish their memory.

It just may be worth your time to visit the Castle and come check us out. Unlike the 'Addams Family' shows, all of this is live, unrehearsed and not recorded before any audience. Funny things happen. Sad things happen. Smiles and tears get shared. Worries and hopes are passed around. Sometimes, we even eat #pizza, cake and ice cream. Sometimes, we watch movies. Sometimes, giant insects attack the microphones and we have to get out our silly swatters and smack 'em up so we have something to snack on because the popcorn got eaten already by little slugs that left slimy trails everywhere and made the sidewalks slippery so that the pancakes didn't get enough traction on our canoes to steer the spaceships. Exactly.
