A Costume Contest!
If you've been in the Castle recently, you know that some of us have have our 'costume names' on already. We LOVE Halloween! And what's one of the most entertaining traditional ways to celebrate? By wearing a costume!
Originally, this was a Celtic practice where on the night of All Hallows Eve, they believed the lines were blurred between this and that. To keep any evil spirits at bay, they wore disguises in the forms of animal skins and 'hides' with the hope to fool any would be nefarious spirits. Over time, it evolved into what it is today, collecting 'spirit cakes' by tricking and treating for candy door to door. Or something like that. I haven't heard anyone pray for the dead in ages though. Dios de la Muerta?
All in good fun now and that's something we can get behind. So, we're having a costume contest! Keep an eye out in a few weeks for the official entry post with rules on how to enter and where you can submit your pictures, gifs or videos of you (or even your kids or dogs or cats or what have you) all dressed up for the occasion. We will pay out the first three favorites from our judges up to twelve entrants. If we go beyond that, then we'll do 4 places and for every three beyond the 12, we will add another prize so if we have 18 people enter, there will be 5 prizes. Make sense?
