To acquire a skill is one of the most beautiful thing to do at a young age,not waiting for life to make certain demands before making an attempt to acquire one. Early skill acquisition gives enough room to grow in the skill, and also gain perfection.
After my university education,as a fresh graduate making meaning out of life and meeting up with financial responsibility was so hectic. Because of financial demand,I was left with the responsibility of acquiring a skill which was necessary.
Learning a skill in the mist of lack can be energy sapping, the demand to buy raw materials for practical during the learning process and having to pay for the tutorial was a big deal.
So because of lack of employment opportunities,the reality of life placed me under pressure to learn a skill in other to earn money for survival.
Life hits differently when we get to certain age,as such it places higher demands. As we grow into adulthood,we do not only have the responsibility of meeting our needs but also the needs of our younger ones and most times the needs of our aged parents or relatives.
Hence,most times the reality of life put us under pressure to secure a skill in other to meet up with life's basic requirements. Securing a white collar job after higher institution is not a guarantee, as such the need to learn a skill arises.
I learnt cosmetology under pressure, life demanded of me financially. I went through thick and thin to be good at what I'm doing,I'm grateful I never give up.
