It is easy when you are known for being alone then you can always have your safe place to yourself. One where no one can interrupt or they might even know you for it and excuse you whenever you are seen there. Like "oh she's in her study room, don't go there", "she's locked her door, don't disturb her". Statements like that shows how much those around you have known such places to be your sacred place of no disturbances.
For me, with the kind of family I have and the "gum body" (attachment with one another) relationship we have with ourselves, it's pretty hard before we can have a safe place to relax around ourselves cos every single moment we spend together, we want to talk, gist and say something to ourselves except if you decided not to stay indoors.
But then, the only safe place for my relaxation is my bed. Either sleeping or not, I still find myself relaxing both nerves and brain. It doesn't mean I have to sleep everytime I am on my bed but seeing me on my bed shows I am done with every physical chores I need to do and I have given a pause on every mental chores as well.
On my bed, could be an activity of using my phone just to chat, surf the internet or whatever. It could be to just close my innocent eyes and while away in my imaginary world of a great life I want for myself and whenever I'm done with the imagination, the real world is always ready to take me back, lol.
My bed harbours so much of my childish act and not just sleeping alone. It is my safe place of relaxation.
