SO THAT A FOOL DOESN'T JUMP OUT (Again)
So many people eager to criticize others' work with less imagination than a brick. So many people who confuse their lack of a sense of humor with a sacred mission to "correct" what they don't understand. I don't usually do this, but well... SO THAT A FOOL DOESN'T JUMP OUT... (another one), I've decided to make it so simple that even the brain most loaded with ill intent can process it.
This way, no one needs to spend an entire night reconstructing and analyzing a creative text under a microscope (and with spite), just to earn their 5 little cents of online relevance by talking at the expense of others' work. How sad, right?
Look how easy I'm making it for you. I'm serving it to you on a plastic platter, with a disposable fork included, to avoid confusion.

Call for Submissions No. 7 for Fanzine El Babujal.
(Version for people without hate-goggles and with a sense of humor)
What's it about?
The magazine Fanzine El Babujal invites writers, poets, illustrators, and essayists to participate in its seventh edition. The theme is "Ancestral Future". What does that mean? Whatever you want, as long as it explores and celebrates diversity. We especially like (yes, I know, we're guilty of having tastes):
- Feminism and empowerment.
- LGBTIQ+ themes.
- Blackness and African diasporas.
An obvious point, just in case:
This is a space of respect. We don't want hate, racism, machismo, homophobia, transphobia, or any other kind of discriminatory crap. Our goal is to exalt the diverse. Yes, just like that. It shocked you, I know.
What can you send and how big?
- Short story: Max 5 pages.
- Tale/Story: Max 15 pages.
- Essay: Max 3 pages.
- Chronicle: 1 page (yes, just one, for those who get to the point).
- Poetry: Max 2 pages.
- Illustration: Drawing, cartoon, comic. Digital and good quality, please.
- Photography: Artistic photo, bodypainting, performance, whatever. Also digital and good quality.
How do I send it?
In Word (.doc or .docx), with Arial font size 12 and single spacing (we're not asking for a papyrus treatise). It can be unpublished or not, but originality is appreciated.

In the email say: Title of the work, your name, your country, a mini-bio (100 words, not your complete autobiography) and a photo of you in JPG (optional, but it's cool to see our faces).
Until when?
From now until January 10, 2026. Yes, you read that right. You have plenty of time to write, draw, think about it, regret it, and start over.
And if I get published?
Your work will appear in the digital magazine and in a fanzine we'll send by email. We'll give you a mini-promo on our page. And, most importantly: the rights remain yours. We're not going to steal your soul or your ideas. How old-fashioned, right?
In short:
Feel free to participate. This is an opportunity to bring your ideas to life and share them without fear with a community that likes the fantastic, the mysterious, and, above all, creating without stepping on each other's toes.
Now it's your turn. I await that profound analysis full of good intentions. Or even better: I await your work.

PARA QUE NO SALTE UN TONTO (OTRA VEZ)
Cuánta gente con ganas de criticar lo ajeno y con menos imaginación que un ladrillo. Cuánta gente que confunde su falta de sentido del humor con una misión sagrada de "corregir" lo que no entiende. No suelo hacer esto, pero bueno... PARA QUE NO SALTE UN TONTO... (otro más), he decidido ponerlo tan fácil que hasta el cerebro más cargadito de mala intención lo pueda procesar.
Así no hace falta que nadie reconstruya una noche entera analizando con microscopio (y mala leche) un texto creativo, solo para ganarse sus 5 pesitos de relevancia en internet hablando a costa del trabajo de otros. Qué triste, ¿no?
Mira qué fácil te la pongo. Te la dejo servida en bandeja de plástico, con tenedor desechable incluido, para evitar confusiones.

¿De qué va?
La revista Fanzine El Babujal invita a escritores, poetas, ilustradores y ensayistas a participar en su séptima edición. El tema es "Futuro ancestral". ¿Qué significa? Pues lo que tú quieras, mientras explore y celebre la diversidad. Nos gusta especialmente (sí, ya sé, pecamos de tener gustos):
- Feminismo y empoderamiento.
- Temáticas LGBTIQ+.
- Negritud y diásporas africanas.
Una obviedad que por si acaso:
Esto es un espacio de respeto. No queremos odio, racismo, machismo, homofobia, transfobia ni ningún otro tipo de mierda discriminatoria. Nuestro objetivo es exaltar lo diverso. Sí, así, tal cual. Te ha chocado, ya lo sé.
¿Qué puedes mandar y de qué tamaño?
- Cuento corto: Máximo 5 páginas.
- Relato: Máximo 15 páginas.
- Ensayo: Máximo 3 páginas.
- Crónica: 1 página (sí, solo una, para los que van al grano).
- Poesía: Máximo 2 páginas.
- Ilustración: Dibujo, caricatura, cómic. En digital y que se vea bien, por favor.
- Fotografía: Foto artística, bodypainting, performance, lo que sea. También en digital y que se vea.
¿Cómo lo mando?
En Word (.doc o .docx), con letra Arial 12 y a espacio sencillo (no estamos pidiendo un tratado en papiro). Puede ser inédito o no, pero la originalidad se agradece.

Tu obra saldrá en la revista digital y en un fanzine que mandaremos por email. Te haremos un mini-promo en nuestra página. Y, lo más importante: los derechos siguen siendo tuyos. No te vamos a robar el alma ni las ideas. Qué anticuados, ¿verdad?

Anímate a participar. Esta es una oportunidad para dar vida a tus ideas y compartirlas sin miedo con una comunidad a la que le gusta lo fantástico, lo misterioso y, sobre todo, crear sin andarse pisando unos a otros.
