There are some people around me who keeps on reminding me how lucky I have been. Nature has gifted me so many things in my life without any efforts. Some of them even show a desire to be at my place. They compare their lives with mine. They think I have had an easy journey accross the years of my life.
Those, who desire for a life like mine, have ever faced the circumstances I have. Do they know about the battles I have fought alone? Do they know about the bruises I have on my soul? Do they have any idea what they are desiring for by wishing to have a life like mine?
People only look at what they see at the face value. They are only fascinated by the glitters on the surface. They never see the struggles and sacrifices one may have gone through for acquiring a particular place or reputation. As stated in his post A Victim Of Reprisal; The Personal Lessons
people see a trophy or poster boy who has everything he needs and didn't need to fight for anything.
Sometimes, it hurts too much when people keep on demonstrating us how easy life has been on us that has presented everything to us in a plate, ready to be served. Lol. The things that are served in the plate might be easy on that person, but there may be a glass of water for which one had to struggle so hard. The struggle for quenching that thirst might have not given that person enough time to enjoy that was present in the plate. Who knows what is inside the hearts and what is behind the scenes!
I think humans have quite a higher tendency to undervalue other's pains and over estimate other's joys. We easily overlook the difficulties in others life (even if we see them). We keep on presenting our own difficulties as the biggest ones. I don't think there is anyone in this world who doesn't have a story of pains to tell. For everyone, one's own life is the most difficult, because it is the life one has really felt.
People ask, "what if you were at my place." Or they me sigh to be at our place. It seems very illogical to me to make a comparison of one's life to another. No one can be at anyone's place, can anyone be? . Everyone is unique with unique set of abilities and life's cicumstances.
Asking the life of someone else is the silliest thing man does. In the desire for roses in other's life, we never think about the thorns attached to them. We can only figure them out when we come accross them. It would be wise for all of us to not be envious and ask the lives like others. Instead, ask and struggle for a better version of our own lives.
