Hi everyone (Hola a todos)
My name is Nya Grace and it's nice to join this wonderful community and also i have always searched for a platform where i can share my thoughts and also my little ideas and i was introduced to this after making some research. This is a little introduction my myself and hopefully y'all enjoy reading it.
I was born in the beautiful country of Puerto Rico a place full of sunshine, beaches, and warm ocean waves and you can never get tired of it and that was what happened to me. I grew up in a small town Cabo Rojo which is close to the coast, where the sea was a big part of her life and also hill climbing because there are some awesome Cliff you can't stare at without wanting to reach for it.... A day can't pass whereby i would not want to go to the beach, feeling the soft sand under my feet and listening to the waves crash against the shore. The beach was more than just a place to relax it was where i had fun, swam for hours, and felt free especially with my friends and I thought i would be there forever.
One of the favorite things i do was search for beautiful stones and shells in the water my grandma taught me about the shells and stones thqt are washed up to the surface of the sand some might be small, colorful and also she taught me how to make jewelry out of those shells and stones and that's how i discovered my first hobby and i really love it and it became part of me as i grew up
I loved collecting them and this always reminds me if my grandma who's no longer with us again....Over time i started making jewelry myself and carefully shaping and designing each piece. It became more than just a hobby and itt was a way to bring a part of the ocean with me wherever i am. These are few of the jewelry i made my self sunce my grandma left
Growing up near the sea also made me love swimming and basically it's the same for everyone, we were taught how to swim at an early age and the water felt like home to us, and me and my friends spent so much time in it that it became a natural part of our life. Whether it was diving into the waves or just floating and enjoying the peace, swimming was something i always looked forward to even when i travel, i always find the nearest body of water to swim in it.
I thought my life was going to be in Puerto Rico for life and luckily for me, i was giving an opportunity to leave and see life beyond a small town and it was a journey New York for my first modeling job. I never thought I would be a model until i was approached and i was told they aksed if i could model for a brand and this was a huge step, and leaving my country was not easy, but i was excited to take on the challenge and see what is beyon, though i was going to miss my friends.
When i arrived in New York, everything was totally different from where i grew up and i thought i was on another planet whrn i started seeing tall buildings, busy streets, different models but no sea around 😄. But i was willing to stay and i adapted quickly, and my first modeling job was a big success. The experience opened many doors for me and soon, i was getting more and more modeling opportunities.
This was my first modeling gigs picture in New York
As my career grew, i decided to make New York my permanent home. Living in the city was a new adventure, full of excitement and challenges. But no matter how busy i got, i never forgot where i came from. I still loved swimming, and whenever i had the chance, i would find a pool or travel to a beach just to be in the water again and i also continued making jewelry, inspired by the memories of collecting stones as a child and i still make jewelry and atleast in 2 months i still visit home and enjoy my moments all over again.
