Did you guess right? It's friendship day!
Here's to my special friend, LadyB on the left and I.
"Hi, let me have your number" Blessing said. This is about the first conversation we had. We weren't even friends yet. We had just been appointed Secretary and treasurer by our youth group and it just felt like a necessity to have each other's contact.
I'm quite the introvert, so except I had an information to relay, you wouldn't catch me speaking to anyone.
Blessing was Secretary and I was the treasurer. I don't think we spoke again for weeks until one day when she texted to check up on me. I was away from church programs for a while and she wanted to know if I was doing okay. I mean I thought I was invisible! Sooner than I imagined we began to talk frequently from a little Hi's here and there to a dramatic hug when we see.
We bonded while working together. Running around at the dine minute could be considered a specialty but we always knew how to get things done.
We've helped each other do a whole lot of things, even the pettiest things. Held each other's hands on bad days and cheered each other on every big step.
I'll admit I became more outgoing and friendly with people through her. She's a mastermind of brunch and casual outings. I have met other people who became friends in the long run, expressed myself and done a while lot of things I never expected I would ( like dancing severally in front of a crowd).
This is one time she made me join a traditional dance team (We are dressed in Efik/Ibibio attire)
Today if I tell people I'm an introvert, they clearly disagree. I guess you can trace that to her.
We'll certainly be miles apart on valentine's day but if we were I'd love to watch a 3D virtual video with her. Her reaction is usually the best part of it. We'd also enjoy window shopping; we somehow prefer it to looking them up online and then of course get good food together. But this year we'll stick to video calls and I'll gift her something yummy too.
